I own a 2018 440i convertible. I installed this about 6 months ago. It works. Looks good.Problem with my past chargers (and I had those that “permanently” installed in the back notch (take center console up) is, especially when top is down, it would over heat. And it barely worked charging, and the phone slid around.This unit has a fan (quiet & small) that prwvwnt the overheating and the additional power probably helps too.And charging speed? Yesterday driving to work, started with 70% power, was playing wireless carplay whole way and it was fully charge in 30 minutes. And although its a plug-in, it looks like it is part of car.Also, leaving it on, the BMW does still shutoff all accessory power (and it) if keys aren’t near the car so it won’t drain the battery.

Perfect fit for 2016 BMW 328 IX
The installation video was helpful. It took a couple of attempts to find the right spot to place my Samsung Z Flip 3 (phone is closed) for the charging to activate. I like that it does not block the cup holders and it has additional outlets to charge other devices.

Not for phones with large cases
Product is easy to install after watching the short video, and fits perfectly. Doesn’t obstruct the cup holders. It does not work with my iPhone 12 Pro Max without removing the case (which is not extremely oversized by any means). Fiancée’s iPhone 12 with slim case has no problem.
