Gets too hot
Had the dashcam in the car since February and this is what I have found so far (26th March)To connect the camera to the app on the phone, you have to switch the camera off and back on again before it will ‘connect’The supplied SD memeory card isn’t the best and not really for continuos recordings. Bought a high endurance 64gb card.On 2 x 4 hour journeys last week the camera stopped recording after around 2 hours. Nothing on SD card after the 2 hour mark.Customer service seems good, quick to respond and sent the latest firmware update. So will see how that goes.In regard to firmware updates, there doesn’t seem to be anywhere where you can update the camera firmware. Looks like you have to contact customer service with a problem before they send you a link.

OEM-Like Dash Cam
Found on Amazon but ended up purchasing direct from the vendor.PRO’s:(1) OEM like fit. Everyone who has seen it has been impressed with the front camera fitment and integration to the car.(2) Power from the rearview camera system greatly simplifies installation. No need to run power from the fuse boxes.(3) Connecting the rear camera is very straight forward.CON’s:(1) Camera sensors are “ok”. They work well enough but are not great. I have VIOFO A129 Plus Duo in my son’s car and the Sony Sensors (at 2k only) provide better image quality.(2) The installation instructions are “ok”. Reasonably straight forward but could be much better. Reassembly (I found) to be much more difficult (particularly the last cover piece) than represented in the instructions. Their install videos have no voice over and the video camera work (again particularly on the final assembly) is not the best. These both could be better done.** Install Tip = put as much of the wire harness as possible under the headliner towards the interior lights in order to create the room for refitting the final cover piece. Room w/ the new wiring is VERY tight.(3) The rear camera is very “generic” in appearance and does not have an as “integrated” look as the forward camera. Not terribly different from other rear cameras but not nearly as “OEM Appearance” as the front camera.(4) The front to rear camera wire is REALY long. I presume this is a “standard” wire used across multiple product lines but it is far too long for a 5-Series and requires a lot of wire “tucking” for fitment.Overall: I think this is a solid dashcam unit. Picture quality is ok for the price point but the OEM look (for the front camera) can not be beat. If they were to shift to the Sony cameras (like used by VIOFO), the overall package would be outstanding.

Excellent product, easy to install, 1 hour tops. Look totally factory OEM, and integrates with the car wiring effortlessly.My only tiny issue was the sticker to cover the sensor hole (my car doesn’t have that sensor) has a white rectangle to cover this hole. I didn’t realise that this white part needs to be removed (it’s like a sticker within a sticker) to reveal a nice shiny black “fake sensor” to fill the unused hole.I messaged the customer service via their app and on a Saturday afternoon, I got a response within 3 minutes. They sent me the graphic (attached) to explain the tiny cosmetic issue.Top marks!Camera looks excellent and functions perfectly.It’s almost surprising to get such a good product and service these days.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Camera assembly is relatively easy, there is a bit of struggle to get the new extended cables to fit under the rearview mirror assembly but it is in fact doable, and nothing out of this world, but do expect to lose around 1 to 1.5 hours to get everything snug, but their video is pretty self explanatory. Camera can’t be seen almost from the outside as it looks very OEM. No cables trailing through anywhere, everything connects and stays within the rear mirror assembly.Video quality seems decent, its not up there with proper 4k but it is good 1440p at least. Built in Micro SD card is a 64gb one so plenty of room and there is a an easy side access to remove it and delete old footage if needed, you can also connect via Wifi to check live view take pictures or delete old clips, but for what it seems this will stop the recording while you are doing it. App could be slightly better with more customization but still decent product.

Fits perfectly, quality above average but not perfect
Superfast delivery from the seller. I’m not very good at working with tools so I was curious how I’d manage to install this camera in my car. It was far from smooth but in the end I did it. The process includes just four or five steps but the plastic parts in BMW are very fragile and making a mistake may break them. Also it took me like 20 minutes to unplug the connector because of slightly complicated access (lack of space). Anyway, after like 90 minutes the installation is almost complete (just the last plastic part doesn’t want to go back because there are additional cables that are in the way but I’ll give it 30 more minutes and I think I’ll succeed).Connecting and setting up the camera was extremely easy and done in two minutes. (Google Pixel 7 Pro).As for the quality… the camera records both video and sound. The sound is OK (loud music distorts it but that’s normal). The picture quality is slightly above average. Not bad at all, not great. The 4K setting seems to be the best (someone wrote it’s just interpolated 2K but to me the 2K setting looks worse than 4K). The picture at the highest quality setting differs depending on the circumstances. In daylight the result is good and absolutely on par with similar dashcams. The problem comes with higher speeds in combination with trees, then the picture basically falls apart. The optic part of the camera is good, it would just deserve a higher framerate. On the other hand this should be sufficient as a proof of what happened and who did what in case of an accident and that’s all that matters.

Difficult to fit but works well
Very difficult to fit, but thankfully they provide great support so 5 stars just for that. Well integrated once fitted and quality is good enough to see plate numbers. Be careful if you have a plug-in hybrid, the camera will stay on the whole time you’re charging. Doesn’t bother me as it acts like a cctv but still better be aware of it

Schnelle und gute Lieferung. Sehr gute Videohinweise für den Verbau der Dashcam. Leider bin ich etwas verwöhnt und habe nicht an die GPS Daten gedacht. Leider ist kein Anschluss vorhanden und auch nicht angedacht. Habe das Gerät aber weiter in Benutzung und sehr zufrieden. Bis auch das Loch vorn an der Blende. Da habe ich aber einen dunklen Aufkleber dran gesetzt. Fällt nicht mehr auf….

740e, 2018The good:Well designed, app works well, camera quality is good, once mounted it is well hidden behind the mirror, build quality is okay (looks pretty much as OEM), shipping time is great, well designedThe caveat – although this is well designed to match and there are good tutorials and even support available to help you with the mount, mounting it is not easy. It’s just BMW didn’t planned casual users to be able to do that. I recommend finding someone knowledgeable to help you with the install, simply because the brackets to detach/attach are tricky.Overall, happy with this and highly recommend. Managed to install it myself, took time (few hours). Works well so far.

FIts like an OEM part
Bought camera for my wife’s 2023 BMW 540i. Tech Support asked me for make/model/year prior to fulfilling order just to make sure I was ordering the correct item. Installation: Getting the first piece off was a bit of a challenge but after that it was pretty easy install.IOS APP: During that time they were updating there IOS app and sent a link to another similar app. Had some trouble connecting to the camera Wi-Fi but after some research I discovered I had to turn off Celluar and Bluetooth to connect my Iphone to the Camera. After that was able to connect and configure the settings to suit my taste. A little inconvenience but just REMEMBER to turn back on when done. Just recently, FITCAM did release their updated IOS app and works while turning off Cellular and Bluetooth. It’s called FitDVR. This may be a problem for people searching the app store since it is slightly different name. The 64gb SD chip is located on the side of the camera and easy to pop in and out if you want to look at videos on your computer. All and all a nice camera and blends right in.

Easy Installation, Clean look
I have a 2020 BMW 5 Series, the installation was very easy, took about 15 to 20 minutes to do it. The hardest part was to organize the wires so that i can put the panels back, but with a little bit of patience i was able to do it. I have installed dash cam’s before, and it needed me to hide the wire under the trim and it never was this clean. Compared to those kind of dash cam’s, this installation was a breeze. The video installation guide was helpful. The overall look of the dash cam on the car is great, it hides behind the mirror and is very non obtrusive. Both camera and the mirror work as expected after the installation. It came with a 64 gb memory card pre installed, i had to use the app to connect to the device. That went smooth as well, app is simple and straight forward. The quality of the video is very good and i am happy with product. I highly recommend this product.

Great camera – good service and responsive
Overall good design, perfect integration, and functionality as advertised!Really would buy here again. Super responsive seller, all description is spot on.The video documentation is good but it takes a little finess to get the BMW covers back on but gentle and easy does make them snap in place. The actual installation of the supplied camera and parts is super easy. Make sure you tuck the wires away well so the do not cover the ventilation slots of the OEM covers or make it harder to snap them back on.Functionality is good and as detailed. Storage on 4k is good enough to have a 9h round trip on a loop recording. saving and auto saving on sensor trigger are all selectable option.Do not hesitate to buy from this good seller, shipping was faster than quoted even before the holidays.Recommend highly.

Nice fitment and video qualithy
Purchased this for a BMW 550I Xdrive. The fitment was excellent. Looks like its a part of the vehicles original trim. A bit tedious to install but in the end wasn’t difficult. The only problem I have with this purchase is after doing some research on Fitmax’s website. I could have purchased the same camera with a rear cam option. Here it is not offered. The problem going forward is you CAN NOT purchase a front cam and then later a rear. Per Fitmax they will not match up.

OEM Look Aftermarket Dashcam for BMW G30
The camera quality of this dashcam is comparable to other high end dash available in the market but is a little bit more cheaper. I love how it looks OEM and has that feel that its always been part of the car. Im not going to lie, it is a little bit hard to install if you have big hands. You may need help with someone who has small fingers. But once you get it installed it looks really good as it has that OEM feel to it.The customer support before and after purchase is what really gives this a 5 star. Seller was always there to answers questions I have before and after buying it. Helped me out from start to finish making sure everything was working properly. If you guys are on the fence about buying this I can verify that you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this product.

I have had the camera for a few months now and noticed that the camera was restarting. I reached out to FitcamX and they got back to me very quickly and after a few questions they sent me a new firmware that seems to have fixed the problem. The service was amazing.

Must Have DashCam for BMW 540 G30
The media could not be loaded.
Took a chance on this dash cam for my 540i G30 BMW and i’m extremely glad I did. This cam was made perfectly for this car speficially as well as a few other BMWs and blends perfectly. It looks like it came with the car and you cannot tell it was added out. Install was very straight forward and was completed within minutes. This quality is extremely high and you can easily view the plates on other vehicles. This was a great buy, especially for the price paid. Highly recommend this DashCam!
