It is great!
I like that it is very easy to use and it reads most OBD2 codes. I was disappointed that it couldn’t read the data from the transmission of my 2012 ML350 4MATIC. It would also be nice if corrective recommendations are populated. They are currently blank for all error codes

One use, and it has more than paid for itself!
My dash lights came on, so I scanned the car with this and it turns out there was something wrong with ignition coil “D”. The app said that someone else fixed the issue by switching out the ignition coil. Internet said it could be other reasons in the circuit too (spark plug or something like that), but we figured the coil was worth a shot, watched a video on it, ordered the parts, and switched it out. Have not had a problem since. Easily made back the money and more by fixing it ourselves opposed to going to a mechanic. There are cheaper versions of OBD2, but I like the way this functions. It gives you the code and known fixes, plus there are no wires to accommodate. You can also download and share the report. And since it’s a known brand, it just feels a bit more dependable for plugging in.

First Christmas gift he loved. He had just slammed his corded one in a door. He likes the extra capabilities going online. He said it works great!

Great product, user friendly
Used product on all vehicles I own to get a status on how they are operating. Was able to run various diagnostic tests and clear any codes, if needed. Definitely would recommend this product.

saved trip to dealer
Liked user interface and problem commonality graph. Plug and play. Used on a 2012 Honda Odyssey. Misfire codes helped narrow it down to several potential solutions. This code reader was a tremendous help on the check engine light/ VSA light. I was headed down wrong path on you tube videos before I got the codes. I watched the general Blue Driver Honda video on the topic, and 2nd item on list was root cause / spark plug. Did like option to just get the check engine codes in a fast manner, or do a slower comprehensive download. The app does route you back to Amazon to shop for parts, but the suggestions were Chinese sourced off brands. Would be nice to see OEM Honda in that list for comparison, had to adjust search filters and search other ways. Also, later when trying to clear secondary stored VSA / ABS codes app screen locked up, so not sure if it was clearing codes or not. Yes/No didn’t work. Ultimately had to close app. Will return to those stored codes later and try again, but the dashboard lights are gone after installing new spark plug (for now).

works on my 2017 Kia
The dealer wanted to charge me $200 just to find out which ABS was failing on my 2017 Kia Sorento, I just bought this part and in less than 15 minutes he detected where the problem was and changed it in an hour. I just saved more than $800 that they wanted to charge me at the Kia dealer.

an excellent buy
It took less than 5 minutes to set up and the instructions were very simple down load app on your cell phone. start the engine, plug the unit into the odb2 port, start the app and your up and running. Could not be any simpler.

It is a great purchase
The device is excellent for what I need. Connects very easy to Bluetooth and setup for my vehicles was easy. One I needed to add the VIN (Older Van 1996) the other the VIN was up to date with the car (2006). The layout and UI download were easy and very user friendly. Give me readouts on the fly.I have the common Wired scanner as well as a “Computer” setup. Bought this for a more fast and portable one to keep in my car for when I’m on a road trip or visiting other states. It will serve me well I am sure and already have used it for a couple checks on my 2 of 6 vehicles.

Great product
So i was pretty skeptical about this product, before I made my purchase. There’s so many OBD2 scanners to choose from, so I spent a couple of days shopping and reading reviews. I can say that this purchase was spot on like the product advertises. I used it to clear dash lights and messages on my daughters 2015 Vw Beetle after an Audio store installed speakers and damaged the passenger door side wire harness. The audio store made good on installing a new harness and speakers for free, but left me with a car full of errors and messages on the dash. The Audio store said they would make it right and fix all the errors, but I decided I would fix the issue and not let them do any more damage. So I installed the BlueDriver and followed the easy setup and begin scanning. I had numerous messages including the Airbag, it gave me the results and what the probable fixes were for repair. So I figured since all the sensors where unplugged and reinstalled with this new harness it was causing all the error messages. So I cleared all related messages with BlueDriver and drove the Beetle Bug for last couple of days back in fourth to work and so far no more lights or error messages on dash. I’m really impressed how well this product works for only the fraction of the cost of other scanners. I’ll keep the BlueDriver module installed for a week and do another scan, but so far so good.. Great product, wish everything was this easy to use..

4.0 out of 5 stars Scan Tool Review. There is good and bad points but only based on our personal experiences. Your mileage may varyMy (Hubby’s) thoughts on Amazon: “They are liars and I will never order from them again! They have done nothing but screw up the shipping of this product from blaming Lemur to just plain outright telling a lie! Yes they did refund shipping and compensated my wife for this crap but it will be a COLD DAY IN HELL WHEN I WILL PURCHASE FROM AMAZON AGAIN!” The shipping and lying fiasco is partially why the rating is low. Some of the rating comes from the product itself. So let me get the issues out of the way first and then I will get to the good things. Which there are more good than bad I promise!Oh and another disclaimer: Use this tool as a diagnositc aid only!! This tool and others like it help point you in the direction of a fix and does not explicitly tell you what is wrong. So please use this tool to help get you pointed in the right direction. Just don’t replace parts, use the tool to get direction, diagnose and then fix.Now to the issues I personally had with this tool:The live data PIDS take several restarts of the application to get to come online. I’m not sure if this is because of a special issue with my vehicle or what the issue is. This is annoying but can be overseen. I personally am a impatient person and like stuff to work the first time around. The second issue is issues that I have with a feature of the tool called Mode 6. My vehicle supports this and I was excited to see what all I can see however this is where the issues arise. The first issue is the app on the phone locks up sometimes when trying to go into mode 6. This isn’t cool at all. A restart of the app fixes this as well. However once I get into mode 6, I get PID/TID readouts that are not human readable! I get TID/PID numbers and the output is in HEXIDECIMAL readout. The HEX part I know from working with computers however without a TID/PID chart, the data is WORTHLESS! In Lemur’s instructional video on mode 6, they show you tapping on a TID/PID and it tells you what it does. On my vehicle, it gives some generic message which again is worthless. So mode 6 on this tool is completely worthless to me!A issue that seemed to correct itself through use is the repair reports. At first, I could not get the repair reports for the error codes on my vehicle then yesterday 12/29/15 I tried again and I was able to get the reports! Coolness! Now onto the good points! The tool will work with both Apple and Android mobile devices. I only was able to test on an iPhone so I cannot say how good or bad the Android device app is. The app and tool are updateable! As Lemur finds thing that need to be patched, they allow the app and the tool to be updated which is very nice indeed! The tood depending on what capabilities it knows about and what the computer allows, can not only scan engine codes but codes from other systems as well! Including ABS, Transmission and more! I ran into a snag on reading TPMS when I tested this tool on another vehicle. Lemur was notified and they are looking into a cause of why it couldn’t read the codes from the TPMS systems of that vehicle. Might be that the computer didn’t allow the tool access? Not sure. The tool once it finds issues will reveal the codes that are being reported. Then you can get a repair report. These diagnostic aids tell you what the code is and what are the most likely culprits that are causing it. Again use this as a diagnostic aid and not gospel for finding out the issue. This I feel is a nice feature! The tool can clear out the trouble codes. However I do wish that Lemur would tell you what state the car needs to be in to clear the codes. Like my vehicle has to be in the run position but engine off in order to clear the codes. Some cars need to be running. I think a safe bet here is key to run but engine off.The tool can check for smog rediness which for emissions is a definite must!If your vehicle supports it, the tool can check the status of the check engine light for parameters such as how long the light has been on and when the last time the light was reset. Again only if your computer supports it.The tool can decode a VIN and tell you where the car was made, what engine is in it, and all sorts of goodies. The tool makes an effort to figure out the VIN from the computer. However if it cant, then you can either manually enter it with a keyboard or if your car has a VIN barcode, you can take a picture of the VIN right in the app and it will fill in that blank for you! That is awesome! The live data tool is very good tool indeed! Depending on what you engine will allow to be read, you can see in real time what the engine is doing and help you narrow down what might be wrong!Best of all, a lot of the data from this tool like the Live Data, smog rediness, repair reports, etc can be exported out of the tool so if you need to analyze them on a computer or send to a friend that is more mechanically inclined, you can do so. A word of warning about the Live Data, it will only export out the PIDS you’ve selected and it only exports out data in a CSV (Comma Seperated Values) format useful in spreadsheets. It does not export out the pretty graphs ( I haven’t found a way to export the graphs at least) that the tool generates.Would I personally consider this a professional tool? Possibly. Reasoning for my thinking is the mode 6 data/testing is useless to me as of this review. I noticed that some of the sensor PIDS are not even in the tool to be read or read in a certain way and should be if this is to be considered a professional tool.Case in point is the Cam and Crank sensors. Maybe this in in the mode 6 data however I do not know because again I can’t read it and I cannot gain access to a TID/PID chart for this. Reason why reading the cam and crank sensors would be good is for a crank but no start condition. Even if we had a PID that would tell us that the cam and crank was in sync would help here. Without reading this data, this tool cannot help you with a crank but no start. At least on my vehicle which happens to be a 02 Jeep Liberty. However if you need a fairly inexpensive tool that is compact, fairly easy to use, updateable, IMHO very good support and can be used a a way to constantly monitor the vehicle (you can leave plugged in), this tool can definitly help with your vehicular woes. Maybe when the tool gets more updates, I will come back and update this review. If y’all are wondering if this has helped me with our vehicle? The answer is yes! I was able to get some live data and it is pointing to a few things that could be wrong with the vehicle. Once I get a clear day, I will get to cracking on this!Hope this helps someone.

A powerful tool in a small format
This reader is quite a powerful tool for those who do their own work on their own cars or if you’d like to inspect a car purchase. Especially in this day and age a lot of people have been selling their used cars while trying to hide things that may have been hidden. For example, a lot of people clear the check engine light before selling a car and state it’s good. This Bluetooth reader can read how many miles since the CEL was reset along with the readiness monitors and live data. So needless to say if you scan it and the CEL was cleared, say, 50 miles ago you should be raising a eyebrow. It also reads codes that may be stored but not displaying (BCM, TCM, ABS, SRS). So look at this scanner as a investment. Not only will it help you in fixing your own car troubles but it may save you a fortune buying a used or even new car.

Wizard
I just purchased Blue driver scanner in November 2023 after I got Kia sportage 2012 for my daughter,I did car registration but the car cannot pass emission test due to EVAP leakage I tried all my possible best to ensure that the car pass emission test but not possible and I had waisted a lot of money to fix evap large leakage error code P0455, then I decided to buy scanner for my private use instead of going to to auto mechanic shops all the time, then I stumbled on blue driver scanner I purchased at AMAZON, Then used to scan the car and stated I have large evap leak P0455, Then the scanner instructed me to go AMAZON and purchase new gas tank cap and canister for Kia 2012, to my surprise I put new gas tank cap and canister then go for NYS inspection and passed. I also have Honda pilot 2010 that had been noisy when I am driving it, I visited mechanic they did wrong thing still making noise and I said let me use the blue driver scanner probably it may give me solution, I scanned and as well instructed me to go Amazon and buy 2front wheel bearing and hub assembly, I purchased and given to mechanic to install after installation the problem to the car fixed. This small Bluetooth device is really WIZARD.

Answers at your finger tips!!!
So i have been having an issue with my truck having random stalls and not giving me a check engine light or trouble codes because they reset as soon as the truck turns off. Well i ordered this scanner and pluged it in the morning an hour later had a stall and ran a full system scan and it gave me a transmission sensor code, something i would have never guessed to be an issue. I like that i get live data and im able to transfer the file to my email right from my phone. This is a great tool for anyone who drives a vehicle. Dont get scammed by shops get a proper scanner and atleast know what the faults are before you empty your pockets at a dealer or shop.

Cool Product
I’m not a mechanic, and I don’t necessarily like working on cars. I do what I can to keep my vehicles legal and functioning. I’ve wanted a diagnostic tool for a while but never had an urgent need. I bought BlueDriver because I thought it would turn off the airbag warning light on my dashboard. I knew why the light was on but couldn’t fix it before my state inspection, and I knew it wouldn’t pass. BlueDriver did NOT turn off the warning light. It read the code and erased the code but not the dashboard light. Don’t buy this foolishly thinking it will take care of your airbag warning light. But that’s not why I gave it just four stars. I hoped the app would reference ways to fix the problem. It listed two options that others had done but gave me no hints on how to do them or where to look. I don’t understand some of the reviews that say it’s hard to use. It was very simple to use for me. I downloaded the app from the App Store onto my iPad and started using BlueDriver. I didn’t need a user’s manual, although there is one inside the app. The device comes with a small ‘quick start’ card that shows you how to plug it in. EASY PEASY! Other than what I listed above, I really like my BlueDriver. It provides a wealth of information that helps me target what to research on the internet to fix my vehicles.

Good not great
So I’ve been using this for a couple years now on a ’98 Chevy k1500 a 2012 Scion xB a 2004 Scion xB a 2015 Toyota Prius and a 96 Chevy k 1500 it works on all of them I haven’t had any major issues however it doesn’t seem to be able to show you transmission temp which is something that I could really use right now it does give you engine temp so I don’t know why it won’t give you transmission temp but apparently it doesn’t and then with the Prius it can’t read any of the like hybrid stuff so I’m going to have to get another one that can do the hybrid readings and all it looks like blue driver doesn’t support that in any that I’ve seen which is unfortunate cuz it’s kind of the only way to tell if the batteries are charging properly and all besides having issues to tell you that it’s not charging properly The other thing is the light on it is nice but if you’re trying to drive at night and read sensors you know like engine temperature or something like that that blue light blinking is actually kind of blinding at least in a pickup regular cab because light is directly in your line of sight it’s not under the dash like it is with some other vehicles so it’s a good device it’s definitely useful for 99% of the things you need it to do reading codes and things like that it’s great for my issue is if you want to read any live stats or anything it doesn’t work so great for that it has some but just not enough

Correctly diagnosed my damaged ABS sensor
I got an ABS and HOLD light on a 2015 Lexus NX200t. I have a Foxwell NT201 scanner, and I discovered that it has limited diagnostic capability (engine, transmission, and emissions) and a much more clunky user interface. The BlueDriver scan tool found the ABS error code, told me which wheel was the culprit, and it told me that it was either a short or open on the ABS sensor. It even saves the report with date and time so I can go back to reference things in front of a computer.Looking in the wheel well, everything looked okay until I pulled back the wheel well lining and found the cable broken near the connector. I’m extremely happy with this purchase.

What a Gadget!!
Hubby wanted this for Christmas. He couldn’t wait till he could try it out. On Christmas day he went out and plugged it in on my 2017 Pacifica. Up popped everything on my van starting with Vin, mileage, any recalls. Unbelievable the amount of info instantly available on the vehicle. He ran it for any error codes and there was none.I can really see how useful this will be and also if purchasing a replacement vehicle. Sure would ease your mind if you can run this on any vehicle before slapping down thousands of dollars.Great product, price was good, delivered on time. Good purchase.

Thorough deep scan of vehicle’s systems. Test a potential car buy. Recommended.
Honest review of BlueDriver Bluetooth Pro OBDII Scan Tool for iPhone & Android @ $99.95 at time of my order. This is my first OBD Scanner. Someone that had one of these recommended this scanner to me. I used this with the BlueDriver app downloaded to my iPhone 14 PRO. I have a 2002 Ford Taurus with a gas cap light illuminated on the instrument cluster. It also has the brake system lights illuminated, but fluids are okay and the system is okay. Whatever was going on was also causing what felt like occasional misfires and was possibly from a vacuum leak. Online research revealed several possible causes, so I tried what seemed like the simplest fix, which was first cleaning the gas cap and inlet and reseating it. That did not work, so I replaced the cap. That did not work. Another friend had a more inexpensive handheld OBD scan tool, but it did not reflect what was causing my gas cap light or the brake light warnings. Rather than continue spending money replacing various other possible things, I opted to try this BlueDriver Scanner since it was reportedly thorough. After reading the very brief quick start insert and downloading the app, I followed the directions and ran my first scan. It should be noted that this provides the best results if you enter your VIN (vehicle identification number) in the app before running the scan. If you run a scan with no VIN entered and wish to retrieve repair reports, the VIN must be entered and then you will be required to run another scan. This runs a deep scan. It took about 2 minutes or so. I made the VIN mistake and had to run two scans. (See dislikes below). This found issues related to the gas cap light (code P0457) as well as others that did not even reflect a warning light or code. But, it was issues that I wondered why things did not work. It identified likely causes of why my headlights did not come on automatically, why there was no chiming when my key was in the ignition while the driver’s door was open, an error in my hood switch, a power steering pressure sensor, and another vacuum system leak. So, I was quite impressed with the things it found/identified. It also allowed me to clear the code of the gas cap light. The brake light problem was not identified at all, nor was it cleared. As far as possible causes and reported fixes, I was hoping for a little more than a line or two saying from someone’s post that they replaced such and such. But, this is a lot more than so many other OBD scan tools provide. I can see taking this when looking at a used vehicle to purchase and running a deep scan to see of any hidden problems with the potential purchase. I recommend this product.Likes:Amazon Prime shipping, returns and refunds.Does a very deep scan of your vehicle’s systems and identifies things that don’t even light up on your dash.Worked well with the app on my iPhone once I clicked for it to allow to connect to Bluetooth. It provides recall reports (obviously on much older cars most of these should have already been dealt with and I don’t even know if a dealer will still honor those that aren’t).This works wirelessly between the device and your phone or tablet. There are no subscription fees or update fees and they keep their database current. One supposedly has access to trained technicians (24/7) in the app or by phone. I was unable to find anything on their online support page as to whether or not one must pay for this service. It automatically saves the report (I did not know this and saved a duplicate) and you can send this report to your email or just save the PDF.It’s very easy to use. Plug it into the port (vehicles after 1996, I believe, have these), and press on the scan icon. There are several self-explanatory icons. Some, not being a mechanic, I had no clue what they were for. There is an online support page. The device lights up while pairing with your phone/tablet and you can see a progress of the scan in the app.It has the capability to access your camera in order to scan your VIN, but it simply would not scan mine so I had to enter it manually.Reads and clears the annoying airbag system and tire pressure monitoring systems codes.Reads live data from your car engine, if you know what you’re looking at, I don’t.Dislikes:The VIN scan would not read my VIN although I made sure to do it in bright sunlight (no glare on windshield) and the VIN plate was not rusty or dirty or obscured.I was not able to copy and paste my VIN into the app’s VIN field. There’s really no instructional booklet aside from a very brief quick start card. Everything has to be found within the app or online at the site.Meh:Some kind of carrying case would have been nice. I am just using the box it came in, which serves the purpose, but a hard-shell protective case would have been much better. On the inside of the box is a BlueDriver plastic emblem with a magnetic or somewhat adhesive backing. I’ve no clue if this is meant to adhere to the outside of the packaging box or what it’s for.5 stars

If I could give this thing six stars I would
The BlueDriver is an expensive OBD II dongle. There are other options that are cheaper. I think this one is worth every single penny.First, the app. The app it uses is proprietary to this device. For some, perhaps that’s a turn-off but because the device and the app are designed to work together specifically, the result is a very reliable and stable app. The UI is great and easy to navigate. However, the killer feature is the sheer level of diagnostics this thing can do. Most scan tools (especially cheap ones) can only read the standard OBD II diagnostic code. This one can read all the codes from every system in the car. It’ll talk to all of the other systems and throw THEIR diagnostic codes. My car was throwing a “Service 4WD System” light. My other cheap scantool wouldn’t give me the error that caused this. But BlueDriver did.The app also has a number of useful features. It will not only tell you the code, it will tell you how common it is on your car and what fixes have worked for other people. My car had the transfer case control module fail. I never would have been able to diagnose this on my own, and a mechanic would have likely charged many times the cost of this device just to diagnose the problem, let alone fix it. This device paid for itself literally the first time it was used. If you are in the market for a bluetooth scantool, just get this one. It’s more expensive but it’s worth every single penny.

I have since sold my hand held ones on craigslist since this thing works so good and gives you unbelievable amount of informatio
I bought this [with my own money not a free on for a review] hoping I would not have to use my very expensive hand held ones anymore which are cumbersome and you always pretty much have to go to the computer to get the codes and search on the net to see what they mean, possible causes and possible fixes.I bought one on amazon similar to this one that was around $18 and had to buy a couple of apps for my phone [around 10 dollars for the apps] to be able to use it. It was OK but I wanted MORE information. I read amazon reviews and realized this was the Cadillac of them at this time [Jan 2016]. I got it in 2 days with Prime. I plugged it on my 3 vehicles and it gives us a plethora of information. We have since sold our hand held ones on craigslist since this thing works so good and gives you unbelievable amount of information. [I do have a couple of complaints, later in the review.]I have been looking for another used vehicle and this device has saved us thousands $$. Your phone is connected to the internet so it goes out and gets you a lot of extra info right away & also updates the device software if need be. It even gives you information about when was the last time someone ERASED ERROR CODES which is happening across the dealers & private sellers in the 40207 and 33186 zip codes more than you would have thought! [in DAYS:HRS:MINS and also miles]. Don’t forget anyone can get a cheap code reader for less than 20 dollars and erase all codes! The serious codes that the vehicle computer reads will come back immediately if erased, others will take a day or 2 -or longer-of driving time to come back in. To late if you bought a vehicle from a private owner and it’s in your name already. Its funny to see the face of people when I tell them, these are all the error codes that the vehicle is giving me, the possible causes [yes this thing does tell you that too!] and BTW someone erased the codes 3 days 22 hrs and 3 minutes ago! It will give you all recalls for the make and model has had from day one! You can ask the owner or dealer to make sure those have been addressed or not. Most will claim [dealers and private owners] that no one has erased the error codes. I say to them “well sir or madam, this is what YOUR vehicle computer is telling my device. It pretty much saying that someone came in here with a key and a code reader, plugged it in and erased the codes 3 days 22 hrs and 3 minutes ago!”When they finally fess up [not all of them do] I just ask them what were the codes that were erased [to see if it was something easy like they didn’t close the fuel cap correctly or something serious like -which I got on several different vehicles without any lights on the dash-a catalytic converter, an O2 sensor or both, anti lock brake codes, steering angle sensors, low or high voltage power supply, tire pressure warning system codes, airbag malfunctions, etc].This purchase has saved thousands on repairs on several vehicles I checked and would have bought!. Sellers were asking top dollar for these vehicles because they had “no lights on the dash” and they had done a cleaning detail on the vehicle!I even took a vehicle that I really liked to a dealership and paid for an inspection. They didn’t get what I got on the code reader at first [or just didn’t plug their code reader] but when I complained to the service manager, they hooked up their reader and got the same stuff [erased codes] and other malfunction codes that were not showing on the dash. BTW this device only tells you that codes were erased, it does not tell ou which ones. They refunded my inspection money because of their embarrassment. That right there paid for this device!I also have run in a couple of situations where the person selling the vehicle has advertised a higher model of the vehicle I was looking at to get more money out of it. These are vehicles in the 7k to 15k range I’ve been looking at [clean title only]. This has happened with private sellers who either buy the LXE [as an example] letters from ebay or a junk yard [I am guessing] and put the new letters claiming the vehicle is a higher level that it really is. The software on this device reads the vin number goes to the net and gets the EXACT model and make from the vehicle. You should see the face of people when I tell them this is a L model [the lower end one ] and not the LEX one! Some of you would say this is on the tittle, well…. Not always. I have a Honda Odyssey and the title does NOT say which model it is!I think everyone reading this knows there are lots of people who are buying vehicles at auction, cleaning them up and sell them for profit posing as regular owners. A vehicle fax can be $40/vehicle and gets expensive quick if you do several cars. [I like vehicle carfax over other because they give you a lot more information on regular service etc than their competitors].In my area code and in the MIAMI area -which is were I have been also trying to buy a used vehicle- there are tons of people selling more than 10 vehicles a year [which are required by law to get a dealer license and do not]. When you ask them why is the vehicle not on their name, or why the have 4 vehicles for sale out of their house, or why was the title on the vehicles he/she’s selling less than 3 weeks old the come with the story about them getting a better vehicle or sob storries. If you pry hard enough they’ll tell you they are “wholesalers” but don’t have the required licenses insurance etc and are less than reputable in the disclosure of their vehicles they’re selling. Don’t get me started on the habitual “private” sellers of salvage but repaired title vehicles!Use this device wisely and save yourself a lot of headaches or negotiate a better price on the used vehicle you are buying and also check your existing vehicles and telling your mechanic exactly what is going on. Be an informed consumer. I have two complaints about the device:1- When looking this couple of months for a used vehicle in zip code areas 40207 and 33186, I usually start the vehicle with it plugged in, let it read all the codes, vin number etc, while the vehicle is warming up, then I drive the vehicle for about 15 to 20 mins to get more info on what the vehicle is doing while you drive it etc and hope that one of the erased codes pops up again. I have lost connection with my phone and the device several times while driving, where I have to stop and reconnect it and therefore lost all data that was being recorded. I thought it could be my phone connection via the Blue-tooth, so I downloaded the app on my wifes phone and the same thing happens! They are both newer iphone 6 and 6 +. Sellers are not to happy to go around and drive the vehicle again for 20 mins so I can record results again!2-I have also had the device fall from the ODBII plug several times. This kind of sucks because you have to start the process all over again and lose all the data that was there before. I have checked about 20 vehicles in the last 3 months. I usually email myself the data while the app is running and they show the results from that email to the seller if there is something wrong since I haven’t figured out how to save the data in the phone. I have resorted now to getting some blue tape and taping it around the plug and the device when its plugged in. Not something I’m happy about. Hope this helps some of you out there.

Works Great, But Scan Takes Time
This is a great OBDII scanner and is probably the most advertised and known by name. I’ve used the ZUS scanners for quite a few years now and they’re awesome. I thought I’d give the BlueDriver scanner a try since everyone was raving about it so much. Overall, the scanner is larger than most, but some of that is the finger slot that gives you something to grab onto to place or remove the scanner. It also has an LED that is very bright so you can see it blinking whenever it decides to (disconnection or other indicators). The app is relatively easy to use, but doesn’t give any real indicators as to what selection you need to make in order to perform a full scan of your vehicle. Once you find it, a full scan takes about five full minutes to complete. It gives a percentage complete during the scan which is nice and the percentage continually increases throughout the scan. Once scanned, you can see just about everything you need to know about your vehicle. When I first scanned our Lexus RX 350, it came up with three issues. The next time I took the car to the dealer, I was able to show them and they were able to check them out. Very nice. There are a lot of other features, like live viewing of different car indicators which is cool. It will probably take a person a couple of months of consistent use to be able to learn and figure out everything this scanner can do. If you’re looking for an easier option, go check out the ZUS scanners. If you’re more technically, grab this one.

BlueDriver
Easy to use and it does a bit more than I expected. Able to read and clear codes when/if needed. Able to see a history of other codes as well. I like the interface with the iphone….easy to use but make sure to keep it updated. Well worth the money as I just saved over $300 on a MAF sensor….kind of knew what it was but I was able to read the code then clear it once taken care of.

Worth Every Penny
Simple to set up on my Motorola Razor+ 2023 phone. This thing is fast, supplying nearly instant code results. It does provide an overwhelming amount of information, but the basic fault codes that go with check engine light are easy to find and understand, plus the explanation of the fault codes (what’s causing the code) is extremely helpful. The price is impossible to beat for what you get. Highly recommended!

Its awesome
In my opinion most of this devices poor reviews come from the time when you had to pay for the app to activate features. Other reviews simply come from individuals not understanding OBII or how it basically functions. This app imo is awesome 1st I am a used car dealer I need a fast OBII that is accurate and that can do a basic scan of all vehicle to make sure the car can pass emissions and to check for trouble codes or pending codes when a check engine is not on. This does it plus so much more.Another import aspect is I need something small to carry around auctions. It gets tiring even carrying a small OBDII that has a cord. This is perfect it can fit in my front pocket & for rainy days I just toss it in a waterproof wristlet.Today I scanned about 50 cars nissan maximas/ altimas/quests/ muranos/ toyota siennas and prius honda accords, civics, odysseys, BMW 3 series 335 and 325, Porsche Boxster, VW Passats, Jetta, bugs/ Audi A4/ acura RSX and TL. Basically it scanned every car I needed it to. Now on some cars the extra features did not work but that is expected most handheld scanners cannot do certain advanced features unless you have a scanner specifically for Euro cars. And this is where I see alot of complaints from this device come in here. This scanner can do alot of things, clear codes, read emissions readiness and it’s accurate it went against my 400 scanner and everything it read this thing registered. Except I noticed on this bad boy I can see when the last codes where erased on a vehicle so I can weed out those dealer cars that clear codes on their problem child cars as they enter the auction.Imo this device is a good value**UPDATE***5 Months later and this little devise is my best friend. It goes to auctions 4 auctions a week and probably scans at least 50 cars per auction. Its never been glitchy or wrong. Its also amazing on a carlot scanning a vehicle in front of a potential customer brings car selling to a whole new level they can see the vehicles readiness monitors. SO I have a 2nd one now just for the sale lot. I absolutely love this item and the quickness of scanning a vehicle. I can scan vehicle almost on the auction block if need be for those cars that just appear that you never saw parked in the sale lot..Also for kicks i scanned a Maserati and it worked..Scans Mercedes c class to. I am pretty sure it will do a basic scan on any car with an OBDII port at this point

UPGRADED REVIEW – My Mechanic compared this to $4500 SnapDragon at his facility
I bought this over five years ago. This used to be the best car scanner I have ever seen. They used to give you all kinds of fixes including fixes from backyard mechanics and level VI auto technicians. They would give you actual step-by-step how to troubleshoot the problem and how to fix it. ButI picked this up and attached it to my harness and he gave me a firmware update. So far so good. But was I ever shocked when I saw the codes of my cars faulty equipment, but it didn’t even tell me what it was it just give me a generalized answer with no advice, no where to look or anything. I don’t know what happened to such a great program but it’s no longer great. Looks like I’ll have to wait to go back to work and use the offices snap-on auto scanner.UPDATED TO 5 STARS.Bluedriver NEVER STOPS TRYING! It keeps updating its firmware through my phone, and BD Keeps updating its Fixes and Solutions. After my 1ST bad experience with BD, it uploaded another software update via Android, to correct all the bugs that I had from that update. Now everything, all the advice, potential cost, Tech Level 6 suggestions, etc are back. And it is dead on. Before the update, it told me that I had an overheating water code, but it wasn’t specific. It could have been the electric fan, the electric thermostat, the relay, the capacitor in the electric fan, anything. So because, in that update, the fan didn’t start, the electric thermostat was volatile, I didn’t have a relay tester, I had to book an appointment with a level 6 technician at the dealer, waiting two weeks for the appointment. While I was driving to the mechanic, it’s already too late to cancel, I forgot that I left my BD scanner hardware in the obd connector, and my Bluedriver App updated and the firmware updated on the way to the mechanic and when I arrived, it gave me a LIVE READING that my Water Temperature was Overheating, and that my electric fan couldn’t start because it couldn’t connect with the electric thermostat. In other words, it said the code meant that the most likely culprit was not the fan but the electric thermostat. It allowed me to save the report as a PDF file which I exported to my computer. It also gave me the FIXES, How to fix it, I’m not sure if it gave me the cost or not, but it gave me the cost for the part which was $42 on Amazon. It also told me that I was leaking oil when it compared oil levels, in 30 minute time frames etc. This happened too late, while I stood in line and gave my car keys to the mechanic. I ended up paying $900 to install a $42 thermostat and two new rocker panels which I could have put in myself had I known. So now I keep the firmware updated, having faith that the people who run BD will immediately correct any bugs, and also update daily new fixes, new solutions, new car makes and models. This scanner is reasonably priced, too popular to go away, and has the best fix solutions for do it yourself backyard mechanics like myself. At the very least, if a mechanic tells you have something wrong that costs more, you know he is lying because this app will tell you. But for now, I have had this since 2017, and it has never broken. I usually keep it in the house where it is cool, i wouldn’t leave this is a very hot car in the summer. What I love about this obd scanner is that not only does it give me fixes and what likely what part it is, but also the cost for a do it yourselfer, by going to the auto parts stores to find the exact cost for your model, you don’t have to put your model, as they have your vin number. It gives you several solutions what it could be if the first one you did, had no effect. It gives you Level 6 Technician suggestions and how to do it. It also lets you take the car for a run in the live mode and check for smog. It checks on my ABS brakes, detects SRS, and allows me to SAVE that report, and Export the entire Report as a PDF file which I can print later and try to figure out. Their tech support is outstanding, their updates seem to be every 2 weeks to once a month. I have not been compensated for this review, but their Solutions to your codes are so USER FRIENDLY, and written in a code for the backyard mechanic, it just makes it so easy. But the reason that BD can do all this is because unlike the most expensive scanners like Snapdragon, which you are paying for an entire computer in a suitcase, which includes processors, hard drives and data that is uploaded to that hard drive with yearly memberships is because Bluedriver uses the processor on your phone, the flashdriver on your phone and its ability to connect to its vast online database. BD is also helpful to professional Level 6 technicians, because most of the solutions or fixes are accurate and verified by Professional Automotive Technicians because its db is online and frequented by comments from technicians. it checks Airbag, Transmission, etc. It has separate windows for Pending and permanent codes and will clear codes, It shows things that you may not be able to fix yourself like Freeze Frame: Vehicle snapshot. It offers Live Data how your care is functioning while you drive around. It gives you a smog check and suggests whether it’s the EGR valve, Oxygen sensor, etc. All of its fixes that have been verified by ASE Certified Technicians. It even tells you if your vehicle has had PARTS RECALLS so you can get down to your dealer. It offers maintainence schedules for oil changes, air filters, etc, Technical Service Bulletins about your vehicle, and what other car owners have found out what usually goes wrong the vehicle. It tells you if your car is ready for an emissions test, gives you fuel trim info how your driving can improve mileage, i assume that’s what its for.It does have a couple of weaknesses, it doesn’t support bidirectional communication which means it can’t open your doors, etc. And This will not work without an online connection. One last thing, I brought my BD to advise a friend who wanted to buy a car at Christopher’s Auto nearby which has a reputation as an honest car sales unit. I checked out the toyota he was about to buy with this, and Bluedriver said that the the brakes had pending codes and functioning problems. It also said in the history that someone had cleared the codes for a waterpump issue without fixing the pump itself. But The salesman told me that the owner had tried to pawn his vehicle off on him when his snapdragon had caught that, and so he offered several hundred dollars less for the vehicle to the owner. The salesman showed me the service bill to show he had just replaced the brakes and the waterpump on the car, but forgot to clear the codes so he cleared it with his snapdragon and the code disappeared when he drove it. But the snapdragon didn’t give an important PARTS RECALL for this vehicle. And my bluedriver said the engine was misfiring in live mode and costing the fueltrim several miles per gallon, which made the guy tune it up before selling it to him.At some point, Bluedriver will be offer millions of dollars to sell their company will be bought out by a larger company who will merge it with his failing company to save money, they will lay off BD employees who update the database while the new company strips everything valuable to sell it, they will use cheaper materials in the scanners so it doesn’t last and a good business will fall apart. But for now, it’s mine and it works! I have gotten my $99 purchase repaid back many times.

Easy to use
It’s easy to use and could read/clear codes, smog check, Mode 6 chaeck, but sometimes could not pair with phone successfully, you must re-plug and re-launch apks for several times. Besides, you could not do the Oil reset thru the apk, it just provides some standard instructions, you must do manual reset by yourselves.

Ease of use…..
After I received this product, (I’m still in the learning process) I downloaded the app, which is required for use. I followed the directions to the letter, but still had pairing probs. So I used the live chat option in the app and someone was there to help me. This is how the issue was fixed; you have to unpair all of ur bluetooth devices so that this device is the only one available and it worked. I couldn’t get the VIN # scanner to work, so I entered the VIN number manually, which isn’t a big deal, but if you have the capability, it would b nice if it worked. I only used it once and I def need to learn more abt it.

Bought this 5 years ago and it has paid for itself 10x over
TLDR: Saved me unnecessary service and $600+I have been using this on my vehicles for 5 years to check diagnostics before and after services. Recently, my wife’s car was shuttering while idling and the Check Engine light came on.2017 Jeep Cherokee 59k miles.I scanned and showed multiple cylinder misfire as well as a fault with the O2 sensor. We dropped the car off at the dealer we purchased it from and they ran their diagnostics, confirming the same codes. They replaced the O2 sensor under our extended warranty but told us they would have to change the spark plugs to address the multiple misfires. They quoted me $570 +tax which is ridiculous, even for a V6 with removing the manifold cover to access all plugs. The KBB pricing is closer to $450 on the high end at a dealer with smaller shops even less. Spark plugs OEM for our car only cost $17-20 each, and usually labor is around $100 per hour at 2.5 hours. That puts us closer to $370 +tax.We declined service and I picked up the car. It is no longer shuttering and the Check Engine light is off. I idled the car for 5 minutes and ran diagnostics again, showing no faults or codes with all cylinders firing normally. The dealer would have performed the service without rerunning the scan, and we would have been out $600+ if I didn’t have this tool.

No Regertssssssss
You won’t regret this at all. I use it almost daily at work. I love how easy it is to connect and to use. We have a couple 5k dollar scanners and this little one blows them away. Now it can’t do everything the big boy ones can go, but it can do more than enough.

Amazing Bluetooth scanner
The media could not be loaded.
“This is undoubtedly the best Bluetooth OBD scanner, especially considering its price. I state this because some of the other scanners do not come with any software, essentially leaving you to scavenge the list of apps on the app stores, which are often subpar at best. If you’re looking for a budget option, you can certainly go for the pro version of “Torque”; however, Torque’s tech support is practically nonexistent. You are required to manually set up live data logs, and updates do not always occur correctly. On the other hand, with BlueDriver, there is already an extensive support system in place, based on the vehicle’s VIN. It even has its own dedicated app in addition to the OBD adapter. The scan covers three main areas: check engine light, all system diagnostics, and essentials along with other live data logs and ability to capture past reports, log fixes (for other users) smog check and service records. Some users have reported that it lacks logs for certain European makes/models, which could be true. However, I can confirm that it has provided all the necessary logs for my Lexus, Nissan, Honda, and Volkswagen. Unfortunately, I have six cars.Yes, you need a smart device with Bluetooth, such as an iPhone, Android, or even a tablet. But these days, who doesn’t have one? Since this operates via Bluetooth, the scans do take some time; on average, a full diagnosis of the car takes about 5-10 minutes. For instance, I purchased a 2013 Honda Accord V6 EXL a few months ago. It failed emissions, and no one was forthcoming about the issue. No one provided me with any data logs on air-fuel ratio. After plugging in the BlueDriver and accessing the compatible live data logs (based on the VIN), I discovered that my engine was taking in far too much air through the intake. The “MAF Trim” indicated that it idled at 6.67 g/s, which was double the amount for the J35y2 engine (which should read around 3.5 g/s). The engine was compensating for the excess air intake with more fuel. This helped me pinpoint the exact issue and saved me around a thousand dollars in unnecessary repairs from the last two shops I had consulted. A screen recording is attached. I can wholeheartedly recommend this product over the cheaper Bluetooth scanners.

ChrisFix recommends
I got this because ChrisFix recommended it. For those who don’t know, ChrisFix makes great youtube videos on car repair and maintenance. I’ve only plugged this into a 1999 Ford ranger to get error codes, and a 2000 Jeep wrangler to clear codes, and it has worked every time. I even plugged it into my new 22 Subaru WRX and was able to get live data from it. The app offers possible solutions to the codes and tells you how common it is for that specific vehicle. This will be a great product for as long as they keep updating the app to work with the latest phones. Very pleased 5/5.

This reader does a lot more than the hardwire versions!
I bought this code reader to maintain several vehicles in our fleet. It does just as much as my hardline reader as well as many other options. The price was very reasonable and it has saved me thousands in diagonosing probelms so I can repair them myself. The only downside to this is the bluetooth. It is slow when downloading a full scan of the computer and its associated systems. Much faster on a cordered reader but do to the capabilities of this Bludriver, I always use it now. It will give you suggestions on what could be causing the code as well as, where to find those parts (mostly Amazon) with direct links to those sites. It really is handy as hell. If you do your own repairs and are budget-minded then you’ll want one of these in your toolbox. I haven’t found anything it can’t do on any of our vehicles, both foreign and domestic.

Super easy to use
I was hesitant on this purchase but it is perfect. I had issues with both my vehicles and hate paying :$125 or more for a service technician to run a scan with a similar tool. This enabled me to have an idea what issues I was having ahead of time. As it turned out on one of my vehicles, my issues were related to a recall which this tool told me about the recalls available along with the engine code. I took it into jeep and had the work done for free due to recall. Since then everytime there is any issues, I pull out my blue driver first ti get an idea of whats going on. It also tells common fixes that others have done to clear the errors. Turns out that jeeps send all kinds of random codes if the battery needs replaced.. I was surprised to see “replace battery” as a common fix for multiple codes I had all at once.. I checked online then replaced my battery and solved my issues just as my blue driver said was a common fix… I have gotten my moneys worth.

Handy, Moves Vehicle to vehicle, Remembers online too! Little blue and red light very cool. Hey if you don’t want to spend 5grand and your really just after error codes, replacing parts and keeping the Miss’s from driving into the dealer and scoring 300 smackers just for a look see, or you want a record of what they will see at a shop prior then break this puppy out. Some shops I know you may want to leave it in the port and have a laugh as you roll in. Not bad for 75 bucks. May be you will like it, we did. Kinda fun to load the different things it can read up and drive the roads and watch for things to show up. Thanks

AMAZING.
This little thing is awesome! I have had plenty of OBDII scanners and the features of this are amazing. I was able to diagnose and fix a bad throttle body and ABS sensors using this. Many non-professional OBDII scanners do not offer a full scan to diagnose the issues. They also list a varity of possible issues and take you to a video to watch on repair and a link to the parts you need for that vehicle. 100% would buy again.

Coolest tool – already avoided 2 Catalytic Converter replacements
We have several older cars – 2010 Forester and 2003 Camry. Both were throwing P0420 codes on my old reader – P0420 Catalytic Converter inefficiency. Did straight forward diagnostics with Volt/Ohm meter on both inlet and outlet O2 sensors and they looked OK, so I thought we were buying 2 Catalytic Converters. Got the Blurdriver and watched the video tutorials – they are awesome! Subaru inlet O2 showed flat line – replaced it and much Joy!. Camry has a bad Vacuum leak leaning out mix. Still hunting it but it’s not a Cat! The screens and diagnostics are fantastic. Definite 5+ Stars

Easy to Use
I rarely write reviews (Sorry Amazon), but although my son urged me to order this and told me it was easy to use an accurate, I figured it was for mechanical and tech savvy people, I had my doubts. I ordered it due to warning lights on my dash and received it yesterday. Pinpointed my problem, faulty gas cap and even had the link to tap on ad order a new one. Still cant believe how easy setup and use is, along with accuracy

Leave it in – connected all the time (part 2)
This has been great, I really like the convenience, the app works well, and I can reset my (Saabaru) codes without disconnecting the battery. My only complaint is that about 3 years ago someone asked “Do I have to remove from port after I turn the car off or can I leave it in”?Lemur (the seller) answered that it goes into sleep mode, but continues to draw power. I really liked leaving it in always, but think as the weather turned cold it was a bad idea. I wish (1) This issue was very clearly descibed in the product description, and (2) That they could find a way to get it to entirely shut down instead. It’s really just a convenience thing – I want to keep on the car so I don’t misplace it, and if out I need to keep it protected and clean.

Very good Bluetooth scanner
It work’s almost right out of the package, once you download the app to your phone it connects easily. And the device attaches to your vehicle’s plug. I tried it with Lexus, VW, Honda, Ford, it’s Great! And the price is worth it.

Good unit for price, but be careful with customer service
The unit is excellent for the price. When I called customer service I couldn’t believe it when the person told me the Live Data messages all returning “Not Supported” it meant that no information was supplied by the vehicle manufacturer. I almost tried to return the unit, but I decided to try again. This time I started the vehicle before entering the Live Data and presto, all measures where available for me to use. Perhaps I should have realized this, but certainly customer service should have suggest it. By the way, the unit has already paid for itself when I recently got a check engine light, since most mechanics charge 1 hour time for diagnosing a problem in addition to costs for the repair (in my case, just cleaning the MAF sensor fixed the problem.

Best OBD2 scanner that normal people should buy
I watch a lot of videos from ChrisFix and Scotty Kilmer and I finally decided to get the BlueDriver when it was in sale for $80 during Cyber Monday. I’ve used it twice already. I think everyone who has a car should buy this because it will come in handy if a Check Engine light appears or when you go shopping for a used car from a private seller.

User Friendly!
Plug and play has never been easier. Plugs right into your OBDII port and with bluetooth connects directly to your smart phone with the app. Immediately gives you the option to scan your vehicle or read parameters. I was able to scan my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with ease and given a pdf of codes with recommendations for repairs and cost. Highly recommend this product!

Is a bit better, but could be even better
I have used it on my 1996 Yukon and it works ok. It does not show reason for ABS warning light but it shows error codes for the engine. Also, history of the error codes cannot be checked.Luckily I have a friend with a better tool and we were able to see many more info there.Since this is probably all software related, I do hope that they will add those features.I have 3 cars and it’s not easy or straightforward to switch between them in the app. User exp. could be better but at least tech support seems available. I have not reached out yet so I cannot comment on this.Overall, not bad product but could be better, based on the price.

Slick but has limitations
fun, slick, somewhat overpriced troubleshooting product.does what it says, mostly, but the marketing leaves out what it doesn’t. Thus the 3 stars: it was very easy to use, and did not require any kind of manual — BUT….I bought Blue Driver because the ABS warning went on in my dash; did not want to go in blind to the Ford dealer for repairs. The product was simple to plug in (though the OBD2 data link was hard to locate under the dash and I could not actually see the dongle on my 2010 Ford Escape, when seated in the driver’s seat.)It searched for and downloaded ALL the OBD codes reasonably fast; maybe 5 minutes tops. 3 of the codes had to do with no gps or entertainement modules (I had to replace the whole radio/entertainment console when it stopped working a couple of years ago), and it also identified the ABS issue I was looking for.The app’s interface (at least on Android) is pretty clean. So what Blue Driver is comprised of is a dongle that you plug in, and a free app that can run on iOS or Android. It connects on the back end (via the Internet conn on your phone) to some third party database that has the actual car datacodes and associated reports.Potential privacy issues here, but I did not study the privacy T&C in any detail. You do have to allow location services on the app side, otherwise the product does not work. I did so, but had my “allow location data” disabled on my S8 settings: the product worked anyway. It did not appear to want to access anything else on my phone. The main reason I decided to spend the $100 (unfortunately did not recieve the Father’s Day gloves promo because I went thru Amazon) was that other OBD readers/scanners do not handle ABS, and I of course was primarily interested in knowing why the ABS light kep flickering on and off on my trusty old V6 Escape that otherwise runs like Secretariat despite havingh already clocked in 130+K miles. The product does not read BCM and TPMS data (at least on my vehicle). When I wrote to customer support about this, they answered:”Unfortunately the BCM system is reported on your vehicle using the proprietary MS-CAN diagnostic system which is not compatible with the current BlueDriver hardware. As to the TPMS module that should be covered but there is no specific TPMS module, it might share a module with the power steering.”What this means is that you are out of luck with anything involving door locking, power windows, outside mirrors, AC, but might have some luck checking the tire air pressure sensors.Blue Driver picked up on the reason for the ABS warning light: the ECU was throwing a C1095 error code (which is proprietary to Ford, and not part of the OBD spec proper). This turned out to be correct, when I later took the car to my Ford Dealer.I would have liked to verify if it was really a Brake Pump Motor Circuit Failure, or if was just some associated subsystem (like a 50 buck wheel speed sensor gone kaput).I don’t know if Blue Driver would have picked up on a failed wheel speed sensor, as well as the Pump Motor error — if, say, BOTH were malfunctioning.I asked customer support about this, but did not get a clear answer on this point. At any rate, the Ford service guy confirmed that the Pump Circuit was hosed, and that the entire subsystem would have to be replaced at a cost of $1,500.However, I live in Florida. So the advice of the Ford guy was: this is a beater. The brakes and brake pads etc all work fine. The only thing to watch out for — he said — is if you slam on the brakes in the snow or ice or heavy rain.If you dont do that, then it is not worth replacing the Pump Motor unit — as the car is otherwise completely safe with respect to brakes. No much snow or ice in good old Fla. So I passed on repairing and spending 2K on parts and labor.I would say this product words mostly as advertised. It is unable, however, to read your odometer (not part of the OBD2 spec apparently), although the Ford service tech had a proprietary scanner that does read miles (not using GPS) directly from the car itself. There are products and platforms out there that can read odometer mileage, so that would be something I would try to add to the functionality of this product. After I left the Ford dealer, I pressed the clear codes option and after it went through a system check, the ABS light went off.So I guess Blue Rider is to some extent bidirectional, which maybe is a something to think about if you worry about your wired car being hacked, especially with that third party database that knows your VIN in the mix.So in the end, I spent 100 bucks on this product, and $139 at the Ford dealer to verify physically what was wrong.I like to test out software (I am an ex developer), so it was fun going through this exercise. But I would be more comfortable spending this kind of money if Blue Driver could identify the working condition of entire system/subsystem clusters. In the end, the best use for this product might be for those who buy used cars and want to know in more detail what might be wrong under the hood.If the Blue Driver were also ble to verify entire subsystems on a hierarchical basis, then I would say it would be a bargain in terms of keeping your mechanic honest.

Could allow other apps to connect.
The blue driver app is good, but I do wish I could use other apps or connect to my PC like any generic OBD2 reader. It is also a bit slow to do a full scan but I’m unsure if that’s just with this specific reader as I’ve only ever used forscan with my old car connected to my laptop. If you have a Ford I would recommend a generic OBD2 to USB cable and forscan. If you have another brand that doesn’t have a freely downloadable app then this is a decent choice if you just want to get an idea of what’s wrong. I’m certainly no mechanic or anything and usually just use these for reading codes since it has no option to do anything like forscan could with turning chimes off, bleeding brakes, etc…
