GREAT camera, great setup, WORTH THE MONEY
I’ve tried 3 other dash cams (all from Amazon), the brands I will not mention, but they were not this brand and they were CRAP. Unfortunately, most times we get what we pay for. I tried to buy a dash cam for less than $100. I got CRAP. This dash cam, however, is absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend VANTRUE to anyone looking for a quality dash cam that isn’t going to die within the first year of ownership.

Title: Capturing Every Angle: 4K Dash Cam Review
Rating: ★★★★★ 4K Dash Cam is a powerful and feature-rich device that provides exceptional video quality and comprehensive coverage for your vehicle. Having extensively tested this dash cam, I can confidently say that it is a top-notch choice for those seeking reliable and high-resolution recording capabilities. The standout feature is its three-channel setup, which includes a front-facing camera, an interior camera, and a rear camera. This arrangement ensures that every angle is captured, offering a complete view of the road and the cabin of your vehicle. Whether you need evidence for insurance claims, protection against fraud, or simply want to document your journey, this dash cam delivers unparalleled coverage. The 4K resolution of the front-facing camera produces incredibly sharp and detailed video footage. It captures clear license plate numbers, road signs, and other crucial details, enhancing the overall clarity of your recordings. The 1080p resolution of the interior and rear cameras is equally impressive, ensuring that you have a comprehensive visual record of both the inside and outside of your vehicle. 4K excels in low-light conditions, thanks to its advanced sensor technology and wide dynamic range (WDR) capabilities. It effectively handles various lighting situations, reducing glare and maintaining image clarity even in challenging environments. Whether you’re driving at night or through tunnels, the dash cam consistently delivers high-quality footage. Another notable feature is the loop recording functionality, which ensures that you never run out of storage space. The dash cam automatically overwrites the oldest footage with the latest recordings, eliminating the need to manually manage the memory card. However, it’s worth noting that purchasing a high-capacity memory card is recommended to maximize the recording duration. The 4K offers additional features such as built-in GPS, which provides accurate speed and location data, as well as a G-sensor that detects sudden impacts and automatically locks and saves the associated footage. These features further enhance the usefulness and reliability of the dash cam, offering peace of mind during your journeys. The build quality of the 4K is excellent, with a compact and discreet design that blends seamlessly with your vehicle’s interior. The dash cam comes with a range of mounting options, ensuring easy installation and adjustability to suit your preferences. In summary, the 3 Channel 4K Dash Cam is a top-of-the-line device that excels in video quality, coverage, and features. Its ability to record in 4K resolution, coupled with its three-channel setup, provides comprehensive visual documentation of your driving experiences. With its advanced sensor technology, loop recording, and additional features, it offers reliable and hassle-free operation. If you’re in search of a high-performance dash cam that leaves no angle uncovered, the 4K is an exceptional choice.

Rear Camera Stopped working
Bought in Nov 2021. Worked flawlessly until Dec 2023. I reseted the unit several times and checked cable but the rear camera stopped working. I am ready to replace this dash cam but not sure to buy the same unit! Maybe I shouldn’t complain because it worked flawlessly for 2 years?

Works better than expected
I eventually bought two of this brand cameras. One in my car and the other in my work truck. The picture are quick and clear. The BEST part is the speed at which you can review the footage. i put the storage disk into my apple desk top. And use a video slider button to watch 10 hrs of video in 10 secs. You slide that bar back and for to what you need to see. Yes you can bracket and clip the videos to your desire. You can press a button on the came of a traffic event and the cam will continue to loop record all day. But skip over your emergency saved video. Which go into a special easy access folder for later retrieve. These can’t be erased until you do it.

Upgraded Version – We’re Happy
We really like the bigger screen and the ability to quickly swap between front, rear and inside cameras to view on the screen. We have the N3 in our other vehicles and decided to try this one. We’re glad we did. We never really had too many issues with the suction cup attachments but to be fair, we only used them a short time until we decided we were happy with where the camera is mounted, then switched to the adhesive mount GPS. It’s great because not only does it show GPS coordinates on the screen, it shows speed. If we could add anything to make it better, it would be its own wifi and wireless file transfer.Looking forward to future versions.

Driver ran red light – this camera proved it
Add me to the list of people who have been saved financially by a dash cam. A driver ran a red light and hit our car. The police had no way to confirm who was in the wrong. The dash cam saved the day and potentially thousands of dollars in raised rates, drivers license points, and so on. Also, the other driver’s insurance company was able to accept full responsibility immediately after seeing the video rather than waiting for the accident report and doing their own investigation which could have taken up to 10 days.A little bit of panic trying to find the video for the police on the scene because it wasn’t in list of videos. Realized after a while that the camera worked as designed: it detected the impact and saved the video to the Events folder to ensure that it would not be deleted later.

Solid unit
Between the three angles, it catches pretty much everything with the only blind spots being directly left and right of the main unit. Is it worth the price? Not remotely, just buy two cheaper dash cams. Does it make you feel less paranoid about insurance fraud? For sure.

Driving Peace of Mind
Small but powerful. I use all three cameras and the are clear as a bell. I did buy their SD card to ensure no compatibility issues. My 12v plug in is in the back of my SUV but still had enough cord to run from the windshield. Easy to use.

Good camera saved our bacon
This guy has come in handy for our business when a guy hit the side of trailer after he tried to race up and cut us off on a merging lane. The wide angle inside camera really saved our bacon when we showed it to the police officers who responded to incident. Thankfully the damage to our stuff was minor. But the driver was claiming it our fault and that we cut him off and ran him off the road. But having this camera we were able to show that we stayed in our lane and were moving with the flow of traffic and that he raced up on us and when he realized he wasn’t able to make ended up getting clipped by the trailer. The one thing I will say, it really does need name brand high quality micro SD cards. We tried using some older ones we had that were off brand and it did not like it in the least, but used a good brand with good speeds for recording and it has worked like a charm.

Suction cup sucks. Good camera
The camera quality and installation with the seperate hardware kit was easy. Didnt know it had 24hr surveillance until i came to review this porduct. The night mode captures video extremely well imo!The only negative thing is the suction cup on the front of the camera. It comes off every day or every other day especially when its hot out.

4K is exactly what I wanted
Overall, the 4K three-camera dashcam is a significant upgrade to the N2 Pro that I have used for two years. Bottomline, I would recommend the N4 on all counts if you want the addition of a rear camera. The added security is well worth the additional cost. It also gives you more options as you can pick which cameras you want to record. Installation and setup were easy with just minor issues that I was able to resolve myself. Running the wire to the rear camera under the headliner and avoiding side airbags is the trickiest part. During two week-long heat waves reaching 98 degrees, the N4 operated without any issues. Here are some highlights and details:CAMERAS: The N4 three cameras can record simultaneously as 1440P + 1080P + 1080P. Dual mode can record at a higher resolution of 2560x1440P front + 1920x1080P inside @ 30fps like the N2 Pro, but also with the option to record the rear instead of interior. This is the obvious benefit for non-rideshare use. I will use dual mode recording most of the time, but am uploading samples for the three-camera simultaneous mode since that is the breakthrough feature. The clarity of all cameras is great. Initially, exposure on the front and rear cameras was slightly darker than I prefer, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the default settings at the midpoint with a wide range for adjustment. The front camera is sharp enough at 1440P to see a wide field of view with minimal distortion. License plate numbers are easily readable at 25 feet, and much farther when set to 2560P. The rear camera is tiny with an ultra-wide lens and significant pin-cushioning that captures 160 degrees. One significant improvement over the N2 Pro is that the inside camera covers a wider field and its infrared imaging at night is much crisper. The microphone also picks up clear conversations at almost any volume, if that is important for you.Formatting & Memory: The N4 accepts up to a 256GB micro SD card. I am using a 128GB Samsung EVO SDXC due to its robustness in heat. One issue when installing into the N4 was it was not readable after formatting in the dashcam. However, I took it out and formatted it twice with a Mac Pro and card reader before it was readable by the N4. It has worked fine ever since. Note that files will automatically be saved to the card from each camera you designate in 3-minute increments and appear chronologically with suffix A, B or C. When the card is full, it will start writing over the oldest files, so be sure to download any events you wish to save, especially if using a smaller capacity memory card.Installation: The N4 body is about 15% larger than the N2 Pro. The larger body accommodates a bigger LED screen that makes settings and viewing much easier than the N2 Pro. Due to a big console for my rear view mirror and sensors on the windshield, I had to mount the N4 on the passenger side instead of the driver’s side like my N2 Pro. The reason was partly the larger size of the camera, but mostly because the suction cup mount caused the N4 to hang lower than I would like. The wire connector also points up rather than to the side like the N2 Pro, so that lowered the mount another 1/2”. Ideally, I would like a smaller fixed adhesive mount with side wire connector instead of the suction cup mount. If you don’t have a big electronic console at the top of your windshield, you will be fine as is.14 people found this helpful

Great 3 channel Dashcam
Really happy with this dashcam so far. Very easy to install, great picture quality, suction cup mechanisms are strong and don’t feel like they’ll pop off of the windshield at any moment. Very solid 3 channel dash camera.

Annoying installation that they hide from you
Across the whole page here, it makes it sound like installation is a breeze. But when you’re actually installing the instructions will give you one sentence on the whole page that’s just like “Run the 20 ft cable around the whole vehicle and they show it like tucked along some ridge. My car doesn’t have a ridge made specifically for this cable to tuck away into. I’m guessing most cars don’t. So then they leave you with a bunch of cables just loosely hanging around your car and leave that as a creative project for you to solve instead of giving actual suggestions for different ways you could make it work with different vehicles. I feel like this must be because they KNEW it wouldn’t work with mosty vehicles and decided that their product which is made for cars doesn’t need to necessarily fit cars. They also didn’t make it very clear that the $50 SD card is NOT included. This would be fine if you literally could use it briefly without a memory card, but you can’t get past the power up screen without one. For $200+ I was just expecting these problems to be solved. Please let me know if there’s some massive easy solution I’m missing. Also the only guide linked on this page is for the hardware kit, not even this product… Makes me think they swapped store pages to take advantage of some ratings for a different product..

The cameras work well. Installation is fairly easy.
Easy to use. Hard for me to see the detail on the menus though, but I attribute that to my relative age and using bi-focals. Probably ok for normal eyes. I tried, but could not complete hooking up the power cable from the “car kit” to the fuse box for permanent power to the camera, so I had to pay an install company to do it. Wasn’t cheap. Paid $85, but they routed it all the way up to the window bracket and plugged it in. My rear windshield is angled back a few degrees so the rear camera is positioned up towards the sky. All I can do there is place something at the bottom of the camera mount to lower its field of view. Installing the remaining cabling is easy. One thing I do not yet understand is the operation of the cameras while I’m not in the car. I have it set for low bit-rate recording, but not sure if it is “on” each night when I am asleep. Also, not sure if low bit-rate recording occurs when collision / motion detection features are selected. Documentation not written that well. The only other thing that happened was the short USB cable that came with it for attaching the camera to a computer did not allow the camera to be recognized. However, this same cable is fine when charging my wireless keyboard. To me this is a software issue. The customer support tech just ordered me a new cable from China (6 to 8 week delivery time).

Great Customer Service!!! Highly RECOMMEND!!!
I’ve purchased 2 of the VANTRUE OnDash N4 units (1 for each car). They work great but one of the suction units got knocked off the window and tore the connector piece. I reached out to Vantrue customer service and they sent me replacement parts at no charge! It did take several weeks as they were coming from China.

Now on my 3rd one
This is my third one of these. I have them in our current vehicles and left one in a vehicle I sold (new owner loves it too). I purchased the kit that allows it to be installed to the fuse box. All wires are hidden and its a great “insurance” measure for our vehicles.

Great customer service
So lets just start in saying that this 3-channel dash cam is great. i use it for rideshare driving. I drive alot, upwards of 80k miles a year. Ive seen plenty of accidents driving around. Ive been hit 3 times in the past couple years. when i tell you its paid for itself 3x over, Im not lyijng. Insurance companies never want to pay up, until the dash cam footage shows up. But lets talk about customer service. I live in a warm area of the US and more times then not, the suction cup will become detached and fall. Well after a year of falling, I reached out to VanTrue to ask about a replacement suction cup. The wonderful people at VanTrue sent one out for me right away, eventhough i had the camera for over a year. Great product and great customer service.

The best one I’ve ever used. Period.
The media could not be loaded.
I’ve had so many cameras that I lost track. My previous one was a Junsun and it was great but it died immediately as soon as the car turned off.Decided to get a new dash camera, specifically one that saved files. I also got a Vantrue fuse adapter, so that’s even more awesome. I’m super super happy with this dash cam so far.It has three cameras. First camera records to the front, second records to the rear, and third records the inside of the vehicle. The inside camera is great for ride-sharing drivers such as Uber and Lyft. The internal camera also has night vision LED lights, which will makes recording passengers much easier. It’s also great for recording the sides of the car.The video quality is fantastic. I don’t mean “okay”. I don’t mean “good”. It’s fantastic. There are multiple “quality settings” to choose from to get the best quality vs space usage on the SD card. In terms of storage, I got a 256 GB card because I plan on having it record in parking mode, so I want to be able to check the stored content after a night of being parked. However, I would get a smaller capacity card if only using it while driving. Additionally, I’m using highest resolution to get the best quality video. The rear camera quality is top notch. I can easily make out license plates on the rear camera. The cabin camera is top notch. The front camera is top notch. Really fantastic. The camera uses a super capacitor instead of a lipo battery, and it’s long term, that’s much better because lipo batteries will start to lose function over time and in extreme heat of the sun, or extreme cold. The main reason I got this camera is because I wanted to record the car’s surrounding, and catch someone if the car was scratched or hit from the side. Front and rear cameras can’t do that. This one, which points to the inside of the cabin, with the wide angle, can view the sides of the car.Inside the box, there is a well written manual with easy to follow instructions, but to be honest, I didn’t read them too much, since everything is pretty self-explanatory. That said, the instructions and pictures are intuitive and easy to follow. The camera came with a 12V charger, camera, rear camera and cable, usb cable, and window mount. The top of the camera has three large buttons for menu navigation. The side has a microSD card slot, an input for the rear camera USB-C port (also doubles as a way to get videos off the microSD card), a reset button and HD out.The inside-facing camera can be rotated up and down to get better angles of the cabin.Rear-camera mount also rotates up and down to get a better angle of the outside. The rear camera comes with a long cable. I had no problem at all going from the rear of my car to the front. The mount has a really nice turning feature to apply the suction cup to the window.Overall, it was super easy to set up and get it going. Menu system is very intuitive. Also, I got a vantrue fuse splitted to power the camera 24/7. I set up motion capture. Now, when anything moves in front of the camera or the car is bumped, it will record that for me to review later.

4K Is Legit!
So, as of writing this review (08/04/2020) , I couldn’t be more impressed with the cam. I ordered all of my gear (hard wire kit, GPS mount & SD Card) at the same time I ordered my cam and I had it all installed and hooked up within an hour. The cams working as good as the N2 Pro and even better with the 3rd cam addition. I did not get the vantrue SD card and got the high endurance card from Samsung instead, which has so far worked out perfect. It has been running normally and parking mode has worked good for a few weeks now with no issues. I have seen other people complaining about parking mode and several recording issues, but so far my parking mode and recording has all been flawless. I did notice my cams temp. go up a bit when it was hardwired in, but I don’t think its uncommon as its running 24/7 and so far its gave me no issues.. {I will Update As I Go & will date the updates}Pros:Cam comes with 3 Cameras (FINALLY!!!)Cam records flawlessly in all 3 camerasCam parking mode kicks on and records great with motion (unsure on collision) as intended. *Using Hardwire KitCam kicks off as intended to limit battery depletion *Using Hardwire KitCam FPS & R&W speeds work as described. [I do think the pixels are a bit off than advertised though – i.e. 1080 is really 720] But the picture is great regardlessCam Night Vision IR for the cabin works as good as expected. The cabin is well seen at nightCons:Cam Requires an update prior to using. *Cam will still work, but it might bug out from time to time if not updatedCam Requires several things to watch the videos and to have GPS shown. (More of a preference, but I wish they would incorporate it into the raw footage vs. being required to use the desktop installer)Cam has no battery source (or doesn’t appear to work on mine anyway) for when it is not connected via hardwire or via lighter port. Mine cuts off just as soon as I unplug the cord, which is as described. (Again, more of a preference, but a small capacitor or built in heat resistant battery would be a great addition, even if the cams size would be a bit larger)Overall:TOTALLY WORTH THE BUY!!!!! I have been an on-off Vantrue user, with the N2 being my last cam.. I am actually shocked they finally kicked out a 3 channel/cam system this late into the game! I’ve been waiting on a 3 channel vantrue for a while 3-4+ years. I’m hoping they do a full 360* 5 channel/cam (Front, Rear, Driver & Passenger, & Cabin) setup one day soon..If your in the cam market and need the essentials with extra spunk, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in this or have an issue with using all features on this cam, giving you get the GPS mount and the hard wire kit all together. Its costly, yes, but well worth it in regards to quality and performance. I would recommend this setup to anyone on the road.**I will update as time goes & will date the updates..

This Dashcam is AWESOME! It is very high quality has a very comprehensive feature set!!!
The media could not be loaded.
OVERVIEWI received my Vantrue N4 DashCam a day earlier than expected. This is a very high quality dashcam. It is lightweight and very well built. It nearly provides 360 degree coverage from exterior front to inside to the exterior rear with the included 3rd channel camera that you’ll mount to the rear window. As you can see from the included video and pictures, the picture clarity is outstanding, day and night. I’ve owned several other brands of dashcams. They did not match up to what the Vantrue offers. This is hands down the best dashcam I’ve owned. To that end, I will certainly continue to purchase Vantrue products as long as they continue producing devices with this level of quality. This is definitely the dashcam to buy.THE PROSThe camera allows for plenty of customization to meet varying needs. For the most part, once you go through the settings once or twice, you’ll be good from there one unless you feel the need to tweak the settings. Perhaps, you want to change from 1, 3 or 5 minute clips. Maybe you’ll decide you don’t want to record what’s going on inside the vehicle so you’ll enhance the imagery for the exterior front and rear. Your choice! The point is, the camera allows for it all. Some of the other features include the ability to switch the view of the 2.5 inch onboard LCD to make any one of the 3 views the primary. You can keep the screen on or set it to go off after any one of the preset timeout periods have been selected. Additionally, you canThe microphone is very sensitive and picks up quite well. The device supports up to a 256GB Micro SD Card which is sufficient for more than a full day of recording even when using all three channels. It really depends on how much you drive and the resolution settings chosen. I drive a lot hence the need for this camera. However, I do have a couple suggestions for possible enhancements in the future.1) I’d suggest there be a purchase option offered to include getting the hardwire kit at a “discounted price” when purchased with the camera or bundle it with the camera for a slight upcharge but discounted prices as compared to buying the hardwire kit and camera separately.2) Perhaps, a future version of the camera could include remote accessibility3) Possibly allow for larger capacity Micro SD Cards… at a minimum, 512GB.

The best 4k dash cam
I previously owned a very solid dash cam which had only the front 1080 camera. Vantrue N4 is a different level. Three cameras covering almost every angle of my car, recording is crisp and unmatched with what i had till now. It’s been a week since I mounted and start using it and so far there are no problems.I love the parking mode (maybe the main reason I bought it) it comes to parking mode soon as car is parked and it records movement around yor car. It records three videos from each cam so you can see who is around your car when parked. It is highly recommended.

Manual warns against cheaper memory cards (Scandisk)
The owner’s manual (which I almost did not fully read) has a note that says that you should NOT use certain popular brands such as Scandisk, brands that are much cheaper. Of course you can use the Vantrue brand memory card, sold separately, which is a little high in price. I guess that their own brand card is more suitable for low and high temperatures within your car during cold winter, and hot summer days. I am guessing. So be prepared to purchase the Vantrue brand memory card, if you want to be on the super safe side. Although there is an on screen prompt if the memory card is glitching out (you may need to format the card using the dashcam itself). **SO YOU COULD CHEAT** and use a cheaper brand, and just be sure to look if there is ever an on screen prompt warning if the card has an error….. As a side note, this is one of the coolest looking, more high tech looking dashcams ever made, it really helps to make your car look very fancy, lol.

If you want to hide the wire to the back camera, this isn’t easy to install. That means paying a professional installer almost as much as I paid for the camera. But I like the result.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME
I totally invested into my car with this expensive $300 dash cam after getting into an accident where the other driver chased me across 5 lanes on I95 after I got in front of her in the HOV lane. She proceeded to throw objects at my car. We ended up colliding as I was trying to get off the ramp. She then began looking to see if I had a dash cam, after which she took pictures of my car, and tried to claim bodily injuries and say I hit her the next day. Come find out she was driving someone else’s car, and doesn’t have insurance. The owner of the vehicle does.Needless to say, my windows were tinted immediately after my car was repaired, and I invested in an EXCELLENT dash cam with amazing video quality. I also wanted 24 hour parking mode, so I would know I’m protected especially living in an apartment complex. Something like that had NEVER happened to me before, but I learned that when people don’t have insurance, then tend to try to take you for everything you have when you have good coverage.Im still in the middle of it with the insurance company, but I 1000 % feel better with my dash cam that records all three cabins at once.Anyways, I had my car hardwired, which was a little difficult, but with the help of some YouTube videos and my owner’s manual, i was able to hardwire my dash cam to an external battery (cell link Neo) which is hardwired to my car, so basically I don’t have to worry about burning my car battery because the external battery is utilized, and charges when my car is on only.Listen, I’m not tech savvy. I’m a 27 year old female nurse who lives alone with her two dogs. Makeup, sleep and food are my hobbies. I was able to hide the wires in the pillars and weather stripping of my car so that they aren’t visible. I even connected the back camera to the front, so you don’t see wires poking out there either.I will upload pics later. I have a 2015 Toyota RAV4 for reference.Btw: the only real issue I ran into was trying to figure out the fuse issue with my car. For some reason the battery wouldn’t charge from the car. With the help of my brother, we found out that I was missing a fuse (fog light) for my car. We ended up not using the external hard wire kit from Vantrue (not needed), and only used the kit from Cell Link.I was also able to conceal the battery under the drivers seat, and I hid those wires in the trimming as well.Literally nothing sticks out but the two cameras themselves. My car feels armored and awesome!

All 3 cameras are good quality
I bought this and after year the suction cup would not hold in heat. I contacted the seller to see if an adhesive mount was available and they shipped me one for free. Great customer service and quality camera.

Perfect for trips
Why can’t be used SanDisk SD cards in this camera?. By other side, the camera is perfect for long trips, day & night.

Failed when I needed it most – UPDATED
**Update – tech support received**Since writing the review below, I was able to get in contact with Vantrue support and told them what happened. They asked many questions and requested screenshots and video clips so that they could see what I was seeing. As part of going through this process with them, I discovered two things. 1) the black spots in the videos I was seeing was only occurring the first time I played the video. But the video played fine and completely on the second play through. So I believe that this was due to buffering/ cache issue on the laptop I was using. 2) the other thing I discovered was that not only was my drive home where I was hit, missing, but so was half of my lunch outing that day. The video of me and a co working leaving to go to lunch was never recorded. But us coming back from lunch was. After viewing all of this, Vantrue said that they believed all of this was due to a faulty G sensor and offered to send me a new dash cam if I would return the old one. So I did. Unfortunately, I had to pay for shipping to return it. But they have indeed sent me a new dash cam. It arrived quickly and appears in good condition.I have increased my original review from 2 stars to 3 stars because of the polite and thorough support that I received and because they did send me a new camera. I have not given it more than 3 stars because my vehicle is in the shop under going repairs from the incident and so I have not yet had a chance to install the new dash cam and test it. I plan on updating this review again after I have had a chance to install and test the new dash cam.**Previous 2 Star Review**I bought this because not too long ago someone ran into my vehicle in a parking lot and left. I discovered the damage after the fact with no idea who’d done it. I had a dashcam at the time but it only worked when the car was on. I had already been wanting one with park mode because I have rims on my vehicle that have been tampered with once already. Then I got backed into. So I broke down and bought this. It seemed to be working fine. I hadn’t had it installed long(~week). In fact I had just realized I had not set up the date and time on it and planned to do that when I got home. That evening, someone rear ended me on the drive. I remember seeing the dashcam come on when I got in the vehicle to head home from work. But after the cop left the scene I went to save the video file and the dashcam was not only off but would not turn on. I got home and pulled the sd card. There were no videos after I got in my vehicle to head home from work that day. I went back through the videos and the morning video was fine, but as the day went on, the park mode videos started blacking out in spots. I pull out the instructions and it said, 1) remove from vehicle in excessive heat (I know it never hit above 90F outside that day)… and 2) don’t run continuously…. so was it just hot enough and my work parking lot just busy enough for it to die?? If so that’s a pretty low bar. I live in the south. The summer temp was mild the day it died and I personally don’t feel like my work parking lot is that busy. I feel like I just wasted a bunch of money. I could just not run the park mode, but that was the whole point of buying it in the first place. So don’t buy this if you live in the south and want to use park mode. Apparently that’s too much for it to handle.I did give this 2 stars instead of just 1, bc I liked the low profile design.

Easier to Install than anticipated – 2023 Nissan Frontier
The media could not be loaded.
The only hesitation I had about purchasing a dash cam was the installation and I am sure glad I chose this particular cam. Right out of the box it was simple. I barely looked at the instructions just to make sure I was doing things right. Ok, so I wired it up wrong the first time, my bad. The second time around it worked like a charm. Which brings me to it’s performance. I inserted a SD card, it wanted to format it automatically. Awesome. After that it comes on and works perfect when the truck is started. I’ve had the cam for a couple of weeks now and no complaints! Would recommend

Great quality and great value
Very simple to install and very easy to set up. I was worried about how difficult it would be to use this, as I have never installed a dashcam before, but it really was super simple. The provided tool for pulling back the car liner was really useful when it came to routing the cable. I used a different SD card than was recommended, and it worked out just fine for me. The SD cards they recommend are just marked up because they have the Vantrue brand on them. The picture quality is really good. Overall, I highly recommend this dashcam!

Very happy w/ Camera – and they stand behind the product!
I’ve run this camera for approx. a year now. I purchased the hardwire kit and GPS suction cup mount as well. I’ve run the camera in 4K, 2K, and HD across all three cameras. The video quality is quite good and the playback in their software actually shows the location of the vehicle along w/ speed information at the time which I found interesting. There were two versions of the software on the site and my initial complaints disappeared once I moved to the newer software.I’ve been using this camera with it mounted to my windshield nearly 24/7/365 in the Florida heat without issue nor failure of the electronics. In fact, the 3rd camera is currently mounted in a location that would likely make the manufacturer cry, but even with it attached to my rear bumper, it’s held up to torrential rain and more without issue and still records just like it did when I pulled it out of the package. While I wouldn’t recommend it, it’s worked well for me. And no, I can’t mount to the rear window of the car or elsewhere in the car because it’s a Miata and the one or two places I found to mount it either gets knocked off when the top goes up or down, or doesn’t have a clear view of the road behind the car.As for standing behind their product, I had an issue with the suction cup after quite some time and I reached out to ask about replacing the suction cup. The opted to replace the entire GPS unit instead. While shipping transit took a while, they were quite helpful and did so once they verified my order and it arrived today. All in all, I’m very happy with the camera and the quality of the video it provides. Them standing behind the product is a huge bonus which is often rare these days.

One of the best 3 channel Dash cam you can buy
I am upgrading from Ventrue N2 Pro dash cam to the new N4 Dash cam.The reason for upgrade is because I was in a 3 car accident, someone rear-ended me, and push my car bump into the car in front of me. When there is no clear evidence to show who caused the accident, 3 car accident can be a messy lawsuit. With camera footage on hand, it is so easy to determined who is at fault and don’t have to worry about lawsuit.Because N2 Pro do not have rear camera, I decided to get an upgrade and try the Vantrue N4 Dashcam. I am very impressed with the N4 on the price and video quality. The video quality is wonderful no matter day or night you get the best video compare to other dash cameras. Front Camera is at 2K or 1440P resolution, cabinet and rear cameras are at FHD or 1080P, all at 30 frames per second. and you can purchase the hardwire kit to have it monitor your car 24/7, which is what I did.One can find all the dash camera specs on Amazon page, so here is what I think the pro and con to this dash cameraPRO1. The video quality is impressively good, I am able to get good video from all 3 camera lens in day or night. A clean windshield and rear window also make huge difference. Night vision is so clear both inside and outside of the car. With new CMOS sensor and F1.4 aprture in the front, night time video is super clean. and 4 IR LED lights for interior camera help to see everything inside the car in night time as well.2. The Dash cam take up to 256GB of Micro SD card, since you have 3 lens all working at same time and at full resolution a 3 minutes clips from all 3 cameras will be about 700MB in size, you will need large SD memory card to hold all the video footage.3. Super capacitor instead of tiny battery is a must for hot or cold weather. I had many other dashcams that come with tiny battery pack, none of those dashcam will last long in extreme hot weather. In summer the temperature inside a car can go all the way to 150-160F, those tiny battery pack won’t last a summer. Capacitor are weather resistant and I don’t have to worry about dead dash cam when I need it.4. Larger LED screen is a godsend, because you have 3 camera view now, the larger LED make it much easier to read. and you can switch between different 3 cameras to the main screen to monitor. It is easy to operate and review the clip.5. Wiring the rear camera is surprisingly easy. I was worry about wiring the rear dash cam to my car, but after watch some Youtube video and read other feedback, I was able to do it in 15 minutes. Maybe my Camry is just easy to do it, I didn’t have problem to hide all the wire and make it look good.CON1. No Wifi or App support. I think with today’s digital age and smart phone, the dash should come with a quick way to access video footage wirelessly to download and share.2. No internal GPS support. a builtin GPS will be a nice feature, you will have to buy GPS mount if you want to get GPS data on the dash cam.3. No Y cable to power and connect to rear dash cam. you will need to run two cables to the main dash cam, one for the rear camera to the side of the main unit, and another cable to provide power on the mounting unit of the main camera. Wish there is a Y cable I can connect both USB C connector to have just one single cable to run to the main unit.4. Video is on codec h.265 format, if you have older computer, it might not support h.265 format. I understand why they need to use h.265 codec because all 3 cameras at 2K or FHD do increase the video size, and h.265 has better efficiency compare to the h.264. So don’t be surprise when you try to watch the 2K video on your 8 years old laptop, the video is not able to play, you can still hook up the dash cam directly to your 60+ inch TV with Micro HDMI cable. Another way you can do is upload it to Youtube and it will encode again but you will lost quality on the video.Overall: The Vantrue N4 is a very good upgrade from N2 Pro, and one of the best 3 channel dash camera you can buy in the market. If you need to get a dash camera for you car, don’t settle on the budget camera that will go bad in a year, get the N4 and have peace of mind to know it will work every time you start the engine with clear video when you need it.

Solid product so far, with an actual response from customer service
Bought this after a fairly brief look at online comparisons. Installed this system in a 2016 extra long MB Sprinter based RV. Suction mount reasonably secure. Rear camera mounts with UHB tape, and they include an extra piece if you want to move it. Setup was trivially easy. Video quality is good. Video is *not* 4k on the front camera unless you run it by itself; best you can do with all three cameras running is 1440p front and 1080p cabin and rear at 30 fps. That resolution is, however, more than adequate for anything I want to do with the camera. Files are stored time stamped, in mp4 format, with an ‘A’, ‘B’, or ‘C’ at the end of the file name to indicate which camera it came from. Event recorder is a little touchy with factory setting, which is OK. ‘Event’ files get stored in a separate directory from the continuous ones so they don’t get overwritten as soon. You can force the current recording into the Event directory by touching the leftmost button on the top. All in all a fairly sane setup.Cons: No wireless access to the files, let alone live feed. I can sort of understand this as it would increase power consumption, but in an age when your refrigerator has wifi your dash cam should have some kind of wireless capability. I was unable to get the camera to connect to a Linux laptop via USB-C, but the laptop could read the card just fine in its own reader. The screen is pretty small if you want a usable backup camera. To get GPS tagging on your files you have to buy a separate GPS mount… but its cheap. I like the camera well enough that I ordered the GPS mount (which uses UHB tape instead of a suction cup). Rear camera view at night is just black without additional light (pretty hard problem to solve with the camera mounted behind tinted glass — could put an IR LED on the back of the van I suppose but not sure if the back camera does IR). Side view on the front camera is blacked out at night (again, hard problem to solve when you have full headlight illumination in the center of the field of view, so acceptable).Pro: They actually seem to have a customer service department! I mounted the camera in a vehicle that is over 21 feet bumper to bumper. The 6 meter cable they include for the rear camera, which would be fine in almost any other vehicle, isn’t long enough to do any kind of sane cable management in the van. The cable is USB-C on one end, but the end that plugs into the camera is a weird, I assume proprietary 1/16″ or so 4 conductor phono plug. It wasn’t clear whether a USB-C extender would work. I looked for a longer cable online and there was nothing (except, it turns out, on the Amazon Japan website). I contacted the company via email and received a prompt, intelligible reply; turns out they have a 9 meter cable available in China and Japan, and they are sending one.Unknowns: I haven’t been in a position to evaluate whether files will finish saving before the power goes out in a wreck (see another review that mentions this). I am hopeful that the high bond tape mount will help with this if it ever becomes an issue. I am not sure how well the GPS position and speed tagging works, but hope to find out soon. Another reviewer mentioned a problem with the GPS format. All in all seems like a solid product so far, and one of very few solutions if you want a camera looking ahead at the road, another looking at the cop coming up behind you, and a third to show that you weren’t texting, weren’t speeding, and didn’t do anything suspicious.

An Excellent Dash Cam!
WOW! What a significant upgrade from my previous dash cam. Easy to install, easy to operate. Great features and EXCELLENT IMAGES! Great price, too! It was easy to route the rear camera’s cable behind the panels/moldings in the interior of my car too.

Good unit, possible quality issues
Update: After some back and forth with customer support and sending them more information about the problem, they sent me a replacement camera. I’ve updated my review to reflect that and my general happiness with the camera itself. For 18 months (not coincidentally the length of the warranty), I loved this dashcam. It was easy to set up and operate, and the picture quality from all three cameras was great. At 19 and a half months, the main (front) camera died. Tried the basic stuff – reboot, update firmware – with no luck. So I contacted support. In fairness, they responded quickly and were at least polite. However, there response was that their corporate policy was to provide no support for any hardware issue outside of the warranty period, nor would they offer a paid repair option, and I would have to buy a completely new camera from them to resolve the issue.I knew the camera was out of warranty; I was ready to pay even half the cost of the camera to get it fixed. But at $300, I expect a camera to last at least two years and to get more than an ‘oh well, bad luck for you’ from support even outside the warranty period.

This is a perfect dash cam that covers all bases….
First of all you get 3 cameras, all with fantastic video. I have hardwired mine using the hardwire kit from Vantrue and also the GPS mount. I was having trouble with Parking mode at first but I think I did not understand how it worked but now that I have paid more attention I went out and checked all the files and found out that Parking mode is working perfectly. It then switches to normal recording once I enter the car and turn it on. Installation was breeze, taking less than 3 hours and that included the search for a constant power connection. I have tried other dash cams but this one is the most fantastic one I have ever seen and with all the features, auto night view, auto turn off of LCD screen, Parking mode that works no matter which camera detects the motion, Collision Detection, etc., I cannot think of a better deal. I thought I was going to have to find a mobile power bank to get Parking mode to work, but after I studied how it works, I realized that I do not need it and that my camera is working fine right out of the box. The manufacturer is very good at responding to a question or complaint within 24 hours as advertised and they also take your phone number so I assume if there is a need, they are willing to call you to straighten out a problem that cannot be fixed through email. I give this product 5 stars for all these reasons.***Edit***I wanted to add to this review, mention of the Vantrue Video Player. Not as impressed. First, let me say this. It works. But when you have video set to maximum on the front camera, the video is very jerky. I have a new computer with 32GBs of RAM and over 3TBs available space with an Intel i9 CPU Yada yada. It isn’t my computer. Now at 1080 resolution and 30fps it is smooth. But just so you know, I have seen some people say that you have to use their dedicated player to get the GPS and speed stamp to show on he video. NOT TRUE! I replayed several videos in Windows Media Player and the stamp showed. The only thing you miss out on is the video information stamp, such as resolution, fps, etc. I like using WMP because if there is anything you need a good look at you can edit the video and create a slow motion snippet of an important part. Now, here is another part that is really aggravating. In the manual they do not explain this but kudos for the support staff getting back within 24 hours to explain. I tried to follow the manual and I added the power through the GPS unit when connecting to the computer. You cannot do this. You have to plug the cable from the computer into the rear camera slot to get it to play directly from the camera to the computer or to copy files over. Remember that, it is not in the manual. Next, I found that if you do not want to remove your camera from the car, just remove the card from the camera and insert it into a full size SD adapter, set the adapter to write-protect and insert into computer. Now you can access all your files on the card and copy them over or just play them. When done, you just reverse everything to put card back into camera. I recommend that you format the card if you copied the files over and do not need an extra copy on the camera anymore.Another advantage to using WMP over the Vantrue Player is that WMP plays the videos a lot more clearer and the audio is much better. Now the worst of the worst (but still not horrible). When you go into the settings for Vantrue and reset KM/H to MPH and the default folder for the files to be found in, every time you close the program and restart it, you (or at least I did) have to go back in and change the settings again. Worst of all is that once you reset the default folder, when you click on the folder symbol to open one, it does not go to the folder you set. It goes to the installation folder where the program is installed. Why? I need to open videos, not see where the program is installed.I cannot think of one way that the Vantrue Player exceeds WMP. WMP is smoother and allows editing and creating slow motion videos, etc. It also saves all settings when it is closed. Plus, the absence of important details in the manual as to how to power up the camera by using the rear camera slot is not there is a big points off. As is the absence of information as to how you can write-protect the card and just insert it directly without having to remove the camera from your car.So, my recommendation to Vantrue is to update the manual, and make the player save settings and improve the algorithm for playing videos so that it can be at least competition for WMP. Until they do that, the product still gets a 5 star review, but the Player only gets a 3.5 stars rating.I hope this helps. Do not allow the Player’s problems stop you from buying this camera. They are a very dedicated group and I am sure they will get the player fixed. In the meantime, the 3-camera setup is the most beautiful dashcam setup I have ever owned or even seen.UPDATE: I have figured out how to use the Player. As I told you above, they are a dedicated group, and they have updated the Player since I purchased my N4. I am able to save my settings now and I do not know if they updated the algorithm for playing videos, but now the jerkiness that I reported above is much better and rivals WMP. So now the recommendation I make is to use the Vantrue Player as it adds the abilite to track the speed and GPS with a map. Now, the map may lag behind where you your location is actually at that moment in time, but at least it has that ability where WMP does not. So again, my new recommendation would be to use the Vantrue Player. If you need any advice on how to use it, I have gone through all the headaches with figuring out everything and will be glad to offer help to anyone who posts a question. Oh, my new rating for the Vantrue Player is 4.5 stars. The half star missing is due to the lagging in the map. My computer is extremely powerful and so I know it isn’t that. If they can fix that last issue, I will give the player 5 stars like I do the dashcam which I still recommend as the best choice on the market.

Works great
Works how it should. Only issue is, the mount suction doesn’t do well in varying temperatures. It won’t stay on the window after a certain point. If the seller knows a fix please let me know but it has been falling off my windshield every day after about 20 to 30 minutes of driving. Didn’t do this in the beginning of course but now it is an issue. Other than that, the cables are long enough to run the wires properly hidden and the camera quality and boot up time is fast. It records you the rear and the front. It’s actually perfect and can help with any issues on the road with corrupt LE or someone trying to steal your vehicle. I do wish they had some kind of way to upload to a cloud system. They would be a great addition. We don’t want people to be able to take the camera with the memory card and the evidence just disappear at that point. We want to be able to go back and look later without having to remove the memory from the camera. This can save a TON of people in court. Evidence tampering happens all too often. If you all do this, I’ll pay whatever it costs! I guarantee customer base would skyrocket. Anyway, grat product overall. I am highly satisfied with this seller. Thank you!

Looks great but dicey power up. Excellent tech support.
This unit looks like it’s very high quality. The packaging is excellent and will put Apple to shame. However I couldn’t get mine to power up at all until I realized it won’t using a USB C-C cable and power supply (and I tried several of these). Nor did the supplied DC adapter work (tested in multiple known good car sockets). Oddly, it powered up and ran fine using any of the 3 USB A-C power supplies and cables I tried. However after charging this way and unplugging the unit, it would not power up under its own super capacitor power. That said, I’ll give them a couple of stars because their tech support people actually answered multiple questions promptly. Such help is extremely rare these days. They told me their USB cable is actually proprietary and so regular usb-c cables will not work. This sounds like a terrible idea. With all these problems I wasn’t able to really test out the unit thoughly but will say the controls look straightforward, the unit is admirably small and would fit on the top of my windshield nicely. The supplied cables and suction cup mount also appear to be high quality.

Decent dash cam, but a little on the pricey side
Pros: I like that this dash cam has three channel capability. I drive Uber/Lyft for a living and i like that this camera is recording a front view, in the cabin and one facing the rear of the car.The front and interior cameras are also equipped with infrared so if you’re driving at night you can still get a decent image from those two camera angles. The camera itself is relatively small. I personally like that it is small so therefore somewhat indiscreet. Some people might think this is a con if they are used to a large screen on their dash cams. I find having a smaller screen is less distracting when I’m driving. My car already has enough screens without adding another one for a dashcam.Cons: The cables. I’m sure I could probably take my car to a car stereo place and pay someone to sneak the cables under the upholstery or in the headliner of the car or something, but I don’t feel like paying someone to do that, nor do I want someone ripping up my carpet, or headliner in order to hide a cable. The included power cord kept coming loose. It comes with one power cable that plugs into a car’s cigarette lighter plug. However, a lot of modern cars are getting rid of those in liue of usb or usb-c ports. I eventually bought a usb cable because the cigarette style power cord kept falling out. This camera is small. As I said earlier in this review, I personally like that this camera is pretty small, but some might prefer a larger screen if that’s what they’re used to.The rear camera does not have the infrared like the forward and cabin facing cameras do. I understand why they may not have included that because people behind you should have their headlights on at night, but it would be nice to have greater detail than just a pair of headlights from the rear facing camera while recording at night.Summary: So far so good. This camera is on the pricey side. There are definitely cheaper options out there, so that is a consideration. I do think the camera is a good buy for what you get straight out of the box. It does several things really well, and only one or two that aren’t so great.I have yet to need to review any of my recordings. I might post again if I do wind up having to use footage from the camera in case of an accident, or incident.

UPDATE: Micro HDMI port does not work on two cameras, and three cables tested.
The media could not be loaded.
When connecting this camera through the micro HDMI port to a TV through a micro HDMI to HDMI cable the camera simply goes into a restarting loop. I have tried three different cables including one which was sent to me directly from Vantrue.I have also tried a replacement camera, but that too had the same problem. I have tried different monitors, all of which work with other devices and the same cables. I am a professional film and video editor and in my professional opinion this is a firmware issue as I can tell a connection is being due to the fact that the camera goes into a recycle loop whenever an HDMI cable is connected. Nothing I have tried with Vantrue tech support has resolved this issue.I am keeping this camera because overall I like the features but Vantrue needs to fix the micro HDMI port problem.Continue to read an in depth review.I recommend this camera especially if like me you want the added security of an inside cabin camera, along with a rear view camera.Pros:Easy to usePrice is lower than comparable higher priced camerasGood packaging with high design qualityGood camera design with small profileGood image quality with low light visibility comparable to much more expensive dash camsThree cameras provide good coverage of your car inside and out.GPS and speed information with purchase of optional GPS mount.Works with high endurance micro SD cards which are easily mounted onto a desktop computer.Records audioParking mode with G sensor and and motion detection.Cabin night visionRelatively easy to mount.Adequate customer support.Free player app for Mac or WindowsCan play videos with many free MP4 player appsLarger screen than the N2Better resolution camera and low light capability than the N2 ProCONS:No soft touch rubberized coating like the one on the N2 ProCamera body is not all matt black like the N2 ProMenu background is a slightly less pleasing interface than the N2 ProTime date speed stamp on video is white and not yellow and harder to see over light backgrounds.Does not take still pictures like the N2 ProMicro HDMI port does not work at all when connecting to the TVFree Player app is a little bit glitchy but still worksGPS mounts and cables from N2 Pro do not fit and you need to buy the new GPS mount for map and speed info.Due to rear facing camera you have two wires coming from the camera instead of just oneCabling the camera wires under your headliner and trim is a big job and should be done with proper trim tools and instruction. No wifi for cloud upload or playback on portable phones and devices.Parking mode does not provide buffer recording. After owning the N2 Pro for about a year and loving that dash cam I upgraded to the N4 in order to add a rear view camera. The N4 works much like the N2 Pro with a straightforward menu system and easy to follow instructions. I purchased the Vantrue 256 micro SD card and the Vantrue GPS mount to add speed info and GPS locations. If you are updating to the N4 you cannot use the GPS mount from the N2 Pro. The connections on the N4 have all been changed so the GPS mount from the N2 Pro is not compatible. They have also updated the connections to USB C and Micro HDMI from mini HDMI. The N4 adds a bigger screen, and 1440 front view resolution, The Sony chip is the same as on higher end cameras like the Blackview. The aperture opens wider than the N2 Pro so this camera is better in lower light. The image quality is very good and the coverage with the three cameras give great coverage while driving. The size of the camera is comparable to the N2 Pro but slightly larger. The N4 does not have the rubberized soft touch coating that I loved on the N2 Pro. There is also a small gray section to the body of the camera around the cabin camera which I wish were all black like the rest of the camera. Because you have to connect the rearview camera there is an extra wire coming from the camera when mounted. It is not as clean looking as the mount for the N2 Pro but not too bad either. The menu system background color is a a displeasing bright orange instead of the red background from the N2 Pro. The N4 does not take still pictures like the N2 Pro does, which is unfortunate, but it has a button to lock clips in memory. If the LCD screen has gone to sleep while driving you need to hit the button twice to lock in a clip, once to wake the LCD screen, and once to lock the clip. The date, time, speed, plate, and GPS stamp is now white instead of yellow. The yellow was better because you could still read it over a light background. The Vantrue player app is a free download from Vantrue and works on both Mac and PC. It’s a little clunky and will crash if you have too many clips loaded into it, but it works to show you a map view of your drive and speed info. It also shows you potentiometer info for bumps and impacts, which is helpful if you are shuttling to a point in a video where your car was bumped into. I find the videos all play much more reliably with VLC. So if you only want to watch the videos back and export them you can simply use VLC. The USB C input does not seem to work directly to another mini USB C fast charge battery pack, but that could just be because it is not compatible to the portable battery pack I have. The only issue that I have not been able to troubleshoot with Vantrue is the micro HDMI port. It does not work when connecting to my Sony Bravia TV. When I try to connect to the TV via the micro HDMI cable the camera just cycles on and off. I have tried different cables and different ports. I also ordered a replacement N4 but that one has the same problem. This seems to be a default in the firmware. I have tried upgrading the firmware but that did not fix the HDMI port issue. The HDMI port worked on the N2 Pro but I never used it. It is much easier to simply pull out the micro SD card and plug that into your computer, or plug the camera into your computer through the USB C port. You have to buy a “high endurance” micro SD chip. Vantrue makes a 256GB one now or you can buy the Samsung Pro 128GB micro SD card which comes with a warranty. Stay away from the SAN Disk Micro SD cards. Despite the Micro HDMI port not working properly I will keep this camera because it still does everything I bought it for. Hopefully Vantrue will fix the HDMI issue in a firmware update. Vantrue does get back to me by email and has worked with me to try to fix the issues I have had. The N4 does not have wifi or Bluetooth and does not work with a phone app like the Blackvue but unless you want to be sent updates to your phone when someone tampers with your parked car this is not an issue. My Mazda 3 cigarette lighter stays powered on when the car is turned off so I do not need to hardwire this camera to the car battery. If I am going to be at work for several hours I can connect this camera to a small portable battery pack and it will stay powered all day without draining my car battery. The parking mode has both motion detection and a G sensor. The camera does not have buffering record capabilities like some security cameras which will record buffered video ahead of an impact or motion event. This means you will only get video from the moment the camera was triggered forward. But generally that is enough information to get a license plate or the person who tampered with your car walking away. Running the cables for the rear camera and front power supply is a big job. I bought a $20.00 trim tool kit and watched some you tube videos on how to do it. Since my car is a hatchback it made wiring the rear camera properly more complicated. I recommend getting silicone spray and wiping it on the cable to make it slide better through wiring tubes. It took me two to three hours to get the cables how I wanted them being careful not to damage my head liner or interior trim. The wires are all cleanly hidden and were properly cabled though the hatchback wiring harness. After a week of owning this Dash Cam and despite the issue with the micro HDMI port and some small cosmetic differences from the N2 Pro I still recommend this camera if you want an interior cabin camera with microphone along with a front and rear camera.

One of the best cam I have experienced and is the perfect 3 channel cam
I have spent a great deal of time looking at reviews and videos of the numerous dash cams available on the market. In general, several out there offer amazing quality videos at a diverse range of prices ($100-$500). In short, having any dashcam is way better than having NONE!Vantrue’s N4 3 channel cam is, in opinion, an amazing cam with very easy to use buttons and features. The video quality is incredibly clear, and although I was hesitant about getting the N4 that has the cabin cam (since I am not an uber/lyft driver), I think the interior is gradually becoming my favorite of the 3 cams!I already had a great dash cam (2 channel) which I was very pleased with, and to be honest the only reason I bought the N4 was because of its ability to rotate around its dash mount suction cup, so I can point the front cam toward the left window and the interior cabin toward the right window (or vice versa). Therefore, between both cams, I am effectively capturing every side in my car (front with my other cam), rear with both rear cams (old cam on the outside while N4 is on the inside) and the side windows with the N4. Now that I have both cams, I realized that the N4 does not freely rotate since there are wires on the inside of the dash suction cup mount. However, it can almost rotate 70-80 degrees so you can still point it sideways if you so desire. But once I used it (as intended – that is facing forward), I realized that the interior cam is simply fantastic! It not only captures crystal clear images of me driving the car, but it also truly captures all action visible from the side windows (without needing to rotate the cam!). It does this during driving as well as while parked!I would say the N4 offers the absolute best Parking Mode options!! It has G-sensor detection, motion senor, a combination of the two, and even low resolution continuous recording, as well as time lapse with two options 1 FPS and 5 FPS! I have not read about, seen, or experienced any other cam like that! You can actually connect it to an external power bank if you are worried about draining your battery – I did not experience any issues and since my cig lighter socket is hot – always on – I can use parking mode easily. But I truly want to hardwire it for a better look and for battery protection (since it has a unit that stops power if the battery level is too low).To summarize:This cam is amazing, and I highly recommend it.Pros: (features I love the best!)- Amazing video quality – (even smaller file sizes than others)- The microphone quality is honestly superior- The menu is so intuitive and very easy to navigate- The LCD is large enough to be comfortable to see (without obstructing your windshield much)- The Parking mode is the best of any cam I have read about or seen reviews of – Parking mode (when G sensor is on) will turn on the cam, even if it were off, to record 5 min if an impact is detected. This is fantastic. If you are worried about battery drainage, just turn it off, and it will only turn on if there is a rattle, shake and/or impact! But motion in this case will not turn it on (unless after it had turn on due to impact).- the motion detection is a real blessing. Both front and interior cams are sensitive to motion (but not the rear cam – and that’s ok since the interior cam captures motions of people walking behind your car – at which point all 3 cams record!)- It is seamless to switch between Parking mode and Normal driving. Actually you do not need to do anything! It is that smart! If action is minimal within 5 min, it will switch to P mode, if there is vibration and/or driving, it will switch to Normal mode. You can also push the OK button for that or long hold the leftmost button and it will switch to P mode (but you must be stopped).- The videos can actually be scrolled through easily on the LCD screen- The file name is the best feature in my opinion: besides having the labels of A, B, and C (Front, interior, rear cam, respectively), they added a P for when recording is during parking mode, and an N when driving normally. This I found to be the most helpful when reviewing the videos. Not all other cams do this.- There are so many great settings including exposures for the cam and sensitivity levels- so easy to remove the cam (and just unplug one cable – for the rear cam) since the power cable plugs into the dash mount- the manual is thorough and well writtenCons (things I wish were a bit different)- If you are wearing polarized sunglasses, you cannot see the screen at all. That’s not the case with my other dash cam. The angle of the LCD design is off 90 degrees. With this cam if I tilt my head 90 degrees I could see the screen whereas with my other cam if I tilt my head I cannot see the screen (but I can see it normally when my head is straight – the way it is supposed to be). The design of the LCD needs to be rotated 90 degrees.-I wish it had an option of a lower resolution with 60 FPS (like their N2 Pro)-The mount is NOT GPS – but they have one available – but there is no package to buy it with N4- I wish the hardwire kit was included (I do not care about including the microSD since those are easily available on amazon, but not so much that hardwire kit)- I wish there was a way to select a view without the two little mini views (i.e. one with three cams showing, then an option to cycle through each cam alone, and then an option to manually turn off the screen – it has 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min screen savers (off), and auto, but it would have been nice to have the manual option to shut off the screen and show single cam views. (my other cam does that).Other considerations that some may not like (but did not affect me):- It has No WIFI or ability to connect to your phone. I thought this would be an issue, but when I tried this features on my other cam, it was slow and my least favorite – and honestly the best was to view footage is on your computer. If you must view it on the cam, make sure you lock it and then go to events and it will be easy to find (it will have the letter E on it).- If you are parked and it is very hot/sunny outside, and there are lots of activity around your car (e.g. people walking, cars driving by), your cam may be recording nearly non-stop and will therefore get too hot and automatically shut off. I believe this is by design to protect both the cam from heat damage as well as your battery from draining. So Ideally If you are parked for too long (more than 2 hours) in the sun, consider hiding the cam in your glovebox and/or unplugging it. I tried to leave it on in my garage, and since it was not recording all the time, and it stayed on motion detection in the morning (so it stayed on).- It is hard for me to make the rear cam useful since it is supposed to be on the inside, but my car has a convertible soft top, and so if I place it on the rear seats, it will only capture the clouds (and not the electronic clouds – just the traditional ones in the sky).

good, but better night vision needed, and better battery life.

Great Dash Cam for my Jeep Wrangler
Great Dash Cam for Jeep Wrangler. Great quality 3-channel video capture and easy to use interface.Add the GPS receiver module for GPS tracking https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083XBS88L?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsNo need to buy the branded Vantrue micro SD card. You can easily use the Samsung Endurance or SanDisk High Endurance micro SD without worry of compatibility issues:Samsung 256: https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Endurance-MicroSDXC-Adapter-security/dp/B09WB3D5GQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=HE1TS2TPXEDV&keywords=samsung%2Bendurance%2Bsd&qid=1690243940&sprefix=samsung%2Bendurance%2Bsd%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-1&th=1SanDisk 256: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P4HBRMV/ref=twister_B07R5WVZT8?_encoding=UTF8&th=1Parking mode power bank (Roypow 30 PD power bank): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JGDGYJY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsI tried many different cameras and have been disappointed with one thing or another. I do love some of the newer capabilities such as Bluetooth and other app functionality, but I am a bit paranoid about the data becoming available outside of my control when stored in regions outside of the US as some apps have done. This camera gives you premium quality while not having to worry about your data being stored somewhere questionable. All data is on the SD card. All it takes is for the micro SD card to get inserted into the dash cam while it is powered and it will prompt you to format it. Once formatting has completed, it will popup a success notification and it will begin recording.Let me break down the pros and cons a bit more.PROS:- Great and compact box with smaller labeled boxes for easy unboxing.- Easy-to-follow instructions and great description of all components that come in the box.- Interface is very easy to use.- Great video image quality even in low light that is comparable to the more expensive dash cams.- Price is certainly more affordable than comparable higher priced cameras.- Camera design and build quality is solid.- 3-channel camera feed that allows for video capture of front & rear as well as cabin.- This camera can record audio. This is enabled by default but can be turned off.- Samsung or SanDisk video endurance micro SD cards (listed above) work great.- Parking mode with G sensor and motion detection capabilities.- Very clear night vision for the cabin.- Ultra easy to mount on the glass.- Customer Service was very responsive.- Better resolution than the N2 Pro and larger screen than the N2 for ease of viewing.- Cable from front cam to back cam is very long and easy to run from front to back of car.- Cabling was not hard in the Jeep Wrangler.- Easily works with Roypow 30W power bank (listed above) for parking mode if you do not wish to hardwire it.CONS:- Does not come with GPS mount. Must be purchased separately.- Doesn’t come with an SD card- Can overheat and turn off if high temperatures- Time/date speed stamp on video is difficult to see on brighter backgrounds as it is white and not yellow.- No WIFI for cloud upload or playback on portable phones and devices, but also no risk of data storage in high risk areas. So this could be a pro as well.- No buffer recording in park mode and if any power has been changed, it reboots the camera to reestablish connection.- With front and rear camera, you will have 2 cables running to the dash cam. Easy enough to hide, but something to consider depending on the vehicle and how much you want exposed.Overall this is a great camera with great specs. I have enjoyed the cameras quality and ease of use. Unboxing was simple and instructions were easy to follow. I enjoyed unboxing each component and matching it up with the instructions. Very easy to follow. I can quickly pull the SD card out and preview the video captures. The audio is nice as I have actually had conversations with people that I needed to go back to since I forgot something and it was nice to have it recorded. Do note that in some countries and places, if you record audio, you do need to notify your passengers that their voice is being recorded. These can bring legal challenges if not appropriately discussed. You can also avoid this by turning off the audio mic in the settings. I do find the 3-channel a good option to get great coverage of the vehicle. Good option for those looking for quality video and don’t mind losing out on some of the cloud and app features.

Great video quality.
I have had this product for 8 months. Video and sound are great. Set up & install was easy. I also bought the vantrue disk. It did not start as described but easy to format. I purchased the recommended hardwire kit. Cables were 14” short and runs my batteries down if car not started every couple of days. My biggest complaint about this product is that it does not stay in park mode. It acts like it does and shows the “P” symbol but it only last for a couple of minutes then back to continuous recording. If you have to leave your car parked more than 24 hours and something happens to it; you will not get a video of the problem.

Great Dashcam, but returned. Amazon slashed the price & was not ready for a price match
This is really good dashCam. The have provided good explanation for installation in the manual. Just looking at the packaging, you get a feeling that this is very good product. I followed exact steps outlined in the manual to complete the installation (with wiring) in ~90mins.I would like to add, the button are located at top of the front cam. I was not familiar with button, making it harder for me to remember the function of each button. Every time I wanted to access ‘menu’ option, I had to tilt the screen, to see labels/icons of each button.Unfortunately, I had to return. I had no intention of returning this product. The price by $50 within a week I bought it. I requested Amazon for a price match; their representative denied. This made me return the product. Instead of buying Vantrue N4; this time I went with Vantrue N4 pro model, which has wifi connectivity.

REVIEW OF VANTRUE N4 DASH CAM
A couple of years ago I decided to purchase a dash cam however I did not know much about them. After researching them and deciding on what features were a necessity, I made a purchase. Actually, I made several purchases and bought the dash cams that I had narrowed my search down to. I tested each of them and decided that the Vantrue N2 Pro was the best dash cam for me and I have been happy ever since. When I recently found out that Vantrue had released the N4 I decided to upgrade. The new N4 is similar to the N2 and has a lot of the same great features along with several new features. Here is my review of my personal PRO’s and CON’s of the new Vantrue N4.PROS:The N4 has three cameras which provide me with a lot more options. The N2 has two cameras (a front-facing camera and an interior camera) but the new design of the N4 received an upgrade of a third camera (a front-facing camera, an interior camera, and an external corded rearview camera). The quality of the cameras and the recorded video is great just like all of Vantrue’s dash cams. The LCD screen on the new N4 is almost twice the size of the screen of the N2. This is great because it makes viewing the menu as well as recorded footage a lot easier. The new N4 accepts a larger memory card. Both the N2 and the N4 use micro SD cards to save recorded footage but the N2 has a max of 64G whereas the new N4 has a max of 256G which allows a lot more recorded footage to be saved. The N4 is designed to make the micro SD card more accessible. The N2 has a rubber-like cover that has to be lifted in order to reach the micro SD card slot but Vantrue got rid of that on the N4 and now the micro SD card slot is a lot easier to access.CONS:The menu is on the top of the N4 unlike the buttons of the N2 which are on the bottom. At first, the top-mounted buttons might look and/or feel normal but I prefer the bottom-mounted buttons. This is because I mount my dash cam directly under my rearview mirror in an attempt to make it less noticeable. This also makes the space between the bottom of the rearview mirror and the top of the dash cam less accessible. This affects me mainly while driving if I need to press the emergency lock/record button, pause the recording, or pause the audio because I have a slightly harder time reaching the top-mounted N4 buttons. This is a minor issue and bottom buttons are just something that I personally prefer to have. The N2 has a feature that allows me to press a button and quickly turn off the LCD screen if I do not want to wait for it to auto-shutoff. So far, I have not found a way to do this with the N4. Again, this is just something that I would prefer to have. The N4 is currently not fully compatible with the Vantrue mirror mount which will only affect a very small percentage of people. Vantrue makes three mounts: a suction-cup mount, an adhesive mount, and a mirror mount. The mirror mount is the only mount that does not have a power port. Since it does not have a power port the dual-purpose port on the side of the N4 which is normally used for the rearview camera needs to instead be used for powering the unit. I have been in contact with Vantrue and I am hoping that they make some type of adapter. I am currently using the Vantrue adhesive mount which seems to be working fine.In conclusion, the Vantrue N4 is a great dash cam and regardless of what I consider to be CONS, I would still consider it my top dash cam pick. For people who only want two cameras, I would still suggest purchasing the N4 and just not use the third camera. This way you will always have that option if you choose to take advantage of it in the future. As a side note for Vantrue, I hope to see the company design a dash cam that connects to your phone via WIFI and saves the footage by uploading it to the cloud. Doing this for all footage would probably be too much but being able to do this for emergency lock/record footage would be great. Maybe even a feature with extended WiFI (similar to what DJI drones use) to access live footage when using parking mode for shock or motion alarms. I can see this being beneficial if someone breaks into the vehicle and takes the dash cam or if a person is away from the car and the alarm goes off. A person would be able to almost instantly access and view the footage of the event. Hopefully, this is a feature that Vantrue can develop for future dash cams.

Great quality, love the interior camera!
Installed this dashcam on the wife’s new car which is an SUV and it still had a lot of extra cord left for the rear camera so I’m sure this will fit any length vehicle. I have a VIOFO on my car with the front and back camera and this one step it up a notch with the added interior camera as well. Will definitely upgrade to this one if my VIOFO ever dies on me.Installation was fairly easy with the included plastic trim pryer/remover. It comes with everything you need but I didn’t want to use my cigarette lighter plug for the power so I purchased a wire kit from Dongar that allowed me to tap into the rear view mirrro’s power for a more seamless look.

Fantastic camera, Software needs work
Other reviews talk about how the camera is itself, and overall, I agree with what they’re saying. When it comes to the software though, the part you have to deal with when you actually need to view the footage, it’s needs work. I attached an image. If you have the GPS module, you can see the location, and (once you set it to three channel mode) all three videos at the same time, but sorting through all the videos to find the one you want could be better. It shows all the videos in a single list. They don’t try and organize into smaller lists by day or clips taken at the same time. It’s a small thing, but to me, makes their software useless you have the GPS module. It’s easier just to plug in the microsd card and look through it in the windows that pops up.

2nd replacement from manufacturer works well:
Update as of July 2021:Customer service from VanTrue reached out to me during June 2021, asked a few questions and after I answered, they were able to send me another brand new box with all units and accessories, due to the problems that I was experiencing in my original review, below. I honestly didn’t have any high hopes and thought I’d go through the same thing of receiving a replacement from the manufacturer, then actually installing/connecting it and the issue still keeps happening (of the rear view not appearing on the main front unit’s LCD screen, no matter what I did or however many replacements I ended up receiving).I really thought it’d be a waste of time asking for another replacement and thought it’s best to just give it up and let this whole thing go, but decided to give it one last chance to receive another replacement, if the manufacturer was able to send one (I sent the original main front unit back in May and the 1st replacement back in June – I was provided a pre-paid shipping label).Fortunately, the 3rd time truly was the charm, as everything honestly works fine now. I’ve been able to confirm that the problems were the two main front units, after all, both the original that I’d purchased through Amazon in February 2021 and the first replacement that I was sent in April 2021. The second replacement so far works without any problems and as such, even though it did take a while for all to work as it’s intended to, I wanted to update my review, to be fair and honest. I will update this, if I encounter any additional issues, but for now, all works well.Original review from May 2021:Really hate to give this 3 channel dash cam just one star after everything I went through with VanTrue customer service in regards to having them send replacement cameras (they were able to send me a brand new front unit & rear camera with all accessories, plus another rear camera with cable), as they did all that they could do to make things right. However, even with me sending them back the original main front unit that I had which was defective (it restarted itself over 30 times in the span of an hour driving on the freeway, exactly a week after it was installed and there was no improvement even after updating firmware), then getting another replacement front camera, the problem still exists that the rear camera WILL NOT show up on the main unit’s LCD screen, and this is honestly the case with all three of the rear cameras and cables that I have. What’s mind-boggling is that when I received the replacement front camera and rear camera, I connected the rear camera with the new cable to the main front camera and it actually worked! Unfortunately, when I went to get the rear camera re-installed professionally today, I was told by the installer that the rear camera is not showing up on the LCD screen, to which I was dumbfounded, since it had worked when I had connected it. The installer said it’s most likely the main front camera that’s the problem and since the 3rd rear camera that I was sent also does not work, that is sadly the case. So now, I’m left with the main dash cam and rear camera professionally installed, which costed a few hundred dollars and the rear not working at all, no matter what attempts were made, so it pretty much just serves as a decoration from my rear windshield. With all this headache from the rear camera not working at all as it’s supposed to, all the time with the emails back and forth with customer service and money wasted with getting this professionally installed, I honestly wish I had gone with a completely different dash cam. I swear that I’ve never owned an electronics item at this price point that malfunctioned and gave me numerous issues like this one, especially for both the original one I had and the second replacement one being completely brand new. Please think twice before getting this particular dash cam. As of May 2021, it does have a 4.5 star rating here, but before you fall for the trap of the high rating like I did, please let the reviews that are highlighting the problems/issues that buyers of this dash cam are reporting to be a warning of things to come or a red flag. You do not want to have a dash cam which doesn’t inspire confidence in it working as it’s intended to and one that’s going to be unreliable, it will truly defeat the whole point of having a dash cam in the first place.

Awesome customer support
I wish all companies had this level is customer support and engagement. Thanks to their dash camera, the insurance process for a recent deer hit was quick and easy. Unfortunately, they towed our car thinking it was for repair so we didn’t remove a few of the camera accessories. And, the insurance company would not let us have access to the car. We contacted VanTrue and they were able to replace the pieces we needed. What an awesome experience!! Will definitely purchase from them again!

Iffy quality but worth it when it works
I really, really wanted this dash cam to work. It had good reviews online, over 2,700 Amazon reviews when I bought it, with a 4.5 star rating. I also have several stalkers actively harassing me, and so far their minimally invasive measures have been enough to keep the police from arresting them. I’ve bought dash cams in the past, but they only showed the straight ahead vantage point, and I was lucky if I could get a single license tag number off of the footage, much less a face to prove anything. This dash cam seemed to be exactly what I’ve wanted for the past 20 years, but then the first one I ordered had issues, then the replacement had issues. The first unit’s rear view camera didn’t work, and neither did parking mode unless the camera was physically moved to wake it up. And yes, that’s with motion detection on, which means it’s supposed to record when it sees motion. I called Amazon support to see how to get the rear camera to work, but there wasn’t anything else I could try — it’s just the one cable. And so Amazon ordered a replacement which came quickly. Meanwhile I’d asked a question of the Amazon community about how to get the rear camera to work, and someone said that the one cable sort of snaps into place. Well, I tried that and was actually able to get the rear camera to work, although the original unit’s cables didn’t snap together and you had to moosh them together pretty hard to get it working, which didn’t seem right. The new unit did work with the rear camera, and the cable did snap in. There were little plastic notches in both cable ends to sort of guide you as to the orientation, and you had to be sure that they fit together to fit it in right. But then… after I set the resolution to the highest setting, the new unit stopped recording. I had footage of me putting the new dash cam in the window and changing its settings, but nothing after that when I got home. This was disappointing, as there was something happening along the road that night that the police would have appreciated seeing. And so I wondered whether it was because I hadn’t connected the rear camera yet, or if the thing just doesn’t record on the higher resolutions. And so I went about testing the camera after the rear camera was hooked up at different resolutions. I was able to get some footage, but the kicker is, the camera apparently lost my time setting, and so the 1st and 2nd round of tests are hard to figure out and I have to redo them. I can’t say yet whether this 2nd dash cam is going back to Amazon or not. However, the parking mode does work better on the newer unit, though probably not well enough to prove it if a stalker is driving past my house 10 times a day. And I noticed something about the night vision in the new unit — it seems to work via infrared, because you could see a part of my bra’s outline in one of the interior videos I reviewed. I was wearing a dark blue shirt at the time with a printed image on it that made it impossible to see my bra under regular light. However with this dash cam’s night vision, you could see the straps and upper part of the bra well enough to know it was there. That’s if you turn on the cabin footage, which unfortunately I need to do because sometimes one of my stalkers breaks into the van and spends a lot of time there. Though he’d probably take the chip out and erase it, knowing his past history. (That’s an issue mentioned by another reviewer — the footage stays on a chip in the dash cam until you remove/replace it, it isn’t uploaded to the cloud, though it generates so much footage that an upload wouldn’t be practical. That means if someone smashes your windows to steal something, if they notice the dash cam and steal that, too, then you’ve lost your footage of the break-in.)I also ended up buying the VanTrue brand chips because it had a high capacity and is fast enough to handle video.Overall, I’d say that the quality of the electronics is iffy, but if you can get the features to work, it’s great. I’m looking forward to hooking up my laptop to the big screen TV to see how many license tags I can read that way. I also saw a man who looked like one of my stalkers while the thing was running, and I want to find that footage to see if I can prove he was there. This thing just might help me get a restraining order and scare those guys off! If it can do that, it’ll be worth all the money and trouble to get it to work, and then some.
