- Identical in fit and performance to the OE parts they replace

- Premium brushes & springs ensure longer life, max power & eliminates brush bounce & excessive arcing
- Corrosion protection eliminates failure of electrical and mechanical components due to contamination
How can I tell if I need a new starter?
If the engine cranks slowly or not at all, check the starting system. The starter could have failed, or excessive resistance in the wires and their connections can prevent the proper voltage from reaching the starter. Check for loose or dirty cable connections or for battery cables with wires that are too small in diameter. If everything else checks, measure the starter draw and amperage, if incorrect, replace the starter.
Will Bosch 100% New Starters provide the same performance as my original unit?
Yes! Bosch starters are specifically engineered and built to deliver the same or better starting power as the original equipment units they replace. Every component used to build Bosch 100% New Starters is subject to the same rigorous Bosch Original Equipment quality standards.
Can I be assured that my 100% New Starter will last, especially in extreme weather?
Yes! All Bosch 100% New Starters are manufactured especially for extremes of heat, cold, and high demand. Each unit is built to last using the highest quality materials and the most technologically advanced processes.

Factory original starter at an aftermarket price
I purchased this as a replacement for my ’04 BMW 330i. The original starter still worked, but it sounded like it was ‘dragging’ when engaged. I knew from experience that wasn’t how it was supposed to sound. Since I was pulling the intake manifold to replace the hard plastic coolant lines, I took the opportunity to also replace the started. It dropped right in and bolted up just like the original. Every aspect of it was exactly as the original, so you can be assured that Bosch is the OE supplier to BMW for this part. Now when cranking, it makes the sounds that a BMW should make when starting.

However a nice added benefit in addition to that the price for …
Fit perfectly into my 2003 325xi. If you are considering tackling the job on your own it is doable however quite difficult specifically on the xi model due to the front differential so you have to take out the old starter from the top from beneath the manifold. However a nice added benefit in addition to that the price for a brand new motor for less than the price of a rebuilt starter is that Bosch throws in two years of free towing and jump starts.

perfect fit,solidly built oem replacement
this is my second replacement from a previously remanufacturing one that went bad after two months. You can’t go wrong here with Bosch part. I strongly recommend a new part over a rebuilt one any day, especially at this price (40% off retail parts store). fit perfectly for my vehicle (E36 engine). Starts every time, no problem so far for 30 days now.

For 2004 BMW 530i E60 M54
Perfect drop-in replacement for a 2004 BMW 530i E60, M54 engine. Just be warned tight space for removing mounting bolts. Mounting bolt is external T12 Torx bolt. Special tool required but a 3/8 ratchet wrench WILL work. If this starter is what you need for your E60 , it’s good to go. Patience is required removing and reinstalling the mounting bolts. Good luck

Well the car starts now
Bought a 2003 BMW 330xi that had been sitting for a couple years because the previous owner said it wouldn’t start/run anymore and they just parked in in their yard. Needless to say it starts and runs beautifully now, and is a very nice car for the price we got it for. Replacing the starter is not exactly an easy task though.

Excellent Starter
This starter is 100% brand new and Bosch quality throughout, outlasts those inferior rebuilts for about the same money. For the DYI though an e12 socket is needed. Install went mint, bolts right up and works better than the original. If you do not have good mechanical skills or don’t know what you are doing don’t attempt this it is time consuming especially on higher mileage cars.

Same as factory starter – sounds the same too despite claims by some that it doesn’t sound the same as the factory BMW starter. The one I got had “Made in Hungary” stamped on it – so it is not made in China. Exactly the same as the original assembly line BMW brand starter that was on my E36 328i.

Worked like a champ
I was having “electrical issues” and I had more than a hunch it was the starter. My shop spent hours troubleshooting and finally replaced the starter and my electrical issues disappeared. The price for this BRAND NEW starter is unbeatable. It even comes with a roadside assistance program from Bosch, you just need to register for it extremely quickly.

OE replacement for the same price as a parts store reman.
OE quality, very nice. Its the same price as a reman unit from the big chain auto parts stores, but MUCH better quality. As much labor is involved in removing the intake to install this starter, I wouldn’t cheap out. This is the way to go. I wouldn’t run anything else on my M3.

Bosch manufactures high-quality replacement and OEM parts that should outlast the life of your car.
Part arrived in appropriate packaging and was ready for installation. It would be nice if Bosch included three new nuts to secure the terminals to posts but assumes that you will reuse those used on the original starter. Addition of a single use packet of anti-seize compound for the bolts that attach the starter to the bell housing of the transmission would be helpful but is not included. After reassembling the entire air intake system and most of the passenger side of the engine compartment, it is a great pleasure when the Bosch starter turns the engine over on the first try.

Better than Remanufactured
I used this to replace a failed remanufactured advance auto Denso type starter on my E46 330xi automatic. I had some confusion on the two starter types factory installed but they are interchangable. Symptoms were putting the key in, turning, and getting all lights but no crank or any sound of attempted start at all. Jumping made no difference. This starter works like a charm and is much better being a new unit vs remanufactured from auto parts stores. I had to special order an E12 external torx wrench for the mount bolts. I also recommend having some vaccum tubing on hand because even at 115k miles the tubes in the way that I had to disconnect were very dry rotted. The starter was a tough job to change but can be done at home as long as you don’t strip those mount bolts. Trying to use box end 3/8″ like some people said nearly striped them out so that 6pt e12 wrench was essential. Sockets will not fit. There are tutorials online for doing the job from above without out pulling the intake manifold. It is impossible from below. The remanufactured unit upon disassembly had severe brush wear and one of the brushes was not making contact with the armature. This starter has been solid for a month now of quick starts. The price was also right. Highly recommended.

2003 e46 325ci conv M54 automatic
Ansolute top quality starter. 100% new Bosch starter, and as of this writing it’s considerably lower priced on Amazon than the rebuilt Bosch starter. Odd. Works perfectly, very strong! Very difficult install on my vehicle. I was able to replace entirely from the top, contrary to some DIY articles. Very tight working conditions, but possible. Remove all the covers on top at firewall and you can just see the 2 bolts. Use a 3/8 ratcheting box end wrench for best results. Then you can move starter around to detach the wiring and maneuver up and out. I would not recommend taking on this task if you lack mechanical experience.

I get a new Bosch starter made in china and take a lots of work to replace the new starter on my x3 2004. However, the starter only start up a few times and broke in a few mins of driving. It is defective made in china product. I do not trust Bosch made in china anymore. return the starter. looking for something else.

Great fitting and high quality starter
This was the right part for the job. This starter was beefy and built a little differently than the BMW OEM product but the quality was great. Turned over on the first turn of the key and my Z4 is back to purring and ripping up the roads this fall.

This is the OEM manufacture for BMW and is same price as a rebuilt so no brainer here!!!
!00% oem BMW part manufactured for BMW but labeled under the manufacture! I am a master BMW tech since 1987 and have my own shop now so over they years I have come to know the different manufactures of the parts used in BMW’s as they were new. With that being said I always try to find parts that are made by the original manufacture but not labeled with BMW packaging and this saves not only me a lot but also I can pass the savings down to my customers. Needless to say this parts fits and works 100% as it should. Thanks and hope this helps.

Great product, good price.
Great product. Brand new Bosch starter for $135 is really a price. Should last a long time. However, we’re into buy it again, I’d probably buy it from FCPEuro. It would be $20 more but they have a lifetime warranty, so if it breaks I could get it replaced for free.

Changed the Clutch in my E46 and decided to change …
Changed the Clutch in my E46 and decided to change this out while I was in the bowels of the car.Started right away, but I’d be careful with the installation. The guide pin at the top of the bell housing are very close tolerance fit and the mounting bolts are at the bottom. This initially caused the starter to cock upwards (guide pin got stuck) and I didn’t notice until I inspected from the top that the starter was not flush with the bell housing despite the bolts being tight. I removed it and had to make sure that the mounting surfaces were parallel as I was tightening the mounting bolts to prevent this from happening again. My car is an 325xi (all wheel drive) and I cannot imagine the difficulty you will have replacing this without pulling the transmission or intake manifold.I’ve read that it can be done, but those are better/more patient mechanics than I am.

the BMW part is like $500-600, this one was like 1/4 price
the BMW part is like $500-600, this one was like 1/4 price, it doesn’t have as high quality build as the BMW one, but it looks like the important parts are well made, if it last 10 year or 70,000 miles I’d be happy, I installed it on my 2003 BMW 330ci and it works and fits (the part doesn’t look exactly like the OEM part, but it fits and works)(don’t every buy a re-built alternator or starter, its not worth being stuck on the road to save $$$)
